Good value for money

Pros: Clean room and bathroom
Cons: Shabby dining room
Location: Convenient, quiet and only short walk to centre of town
Very helpful and welcoming reception staff. When my husband and I were shown to our room I was disappointed at the very narrow twin beds - I was worried I would fall out of the bed during the night! When we asked if we could change rooms at reception the receptionist was very helpful and let us swap to a room with a king-size bed. The room was clean and comfortable but the dining room needs redecorating and more choice of foods at breakfast would have been nice.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Pisa. Staff were welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Quaint & comfy hotel in the heart of Pisa
Posted Jan 15, 2013
Pros: The architecture fits nicely with the older houses around downtown Pisa. Lovely, charming hotel, with a great staff and clean rooms :)
Cons: Internet connectivity - wifi doesn't work if you want to make a Skype call.
Location: You're in the heart of Pisa - lots of amazing restaurants, churches, and the leaning tower are only a short walk away :)
I felt like I was living in Pisa while staying at this hotel. :) The facilities fit nicely with the older houses around downtown Pisa, so don't expect a modern hotel. That said, Verdi has charm, personality, a friendly staff and clean rooms. The tricky bits: you're in downtown Pisa, which means you'll be within a few minutes of the tower & other attractions, but you'll also be on the winding streets of Pisa. Getting to the hotel can be a bit tricky. I recommend coming from the river side and taking a small passage street called Via Delle Belle Torri (it's about the width of two people, definitely not meant for a car). From there, you take the first right, a few meters away and you're there. If you try to get through the back and you're jetlagged, it may take you a while to sort out the location. Downside: The only downside I can think of is the internet. You can get 2 hour passes for free, but the speed is ridiculously bad. You can also buy an unlimited pass for your stay for 5 Euro. Still not great speed for much other than email, but then again, you're in Pisa. Get out there and do something other than stay on the Internet :)

Small cubbyhole!
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Location and breakfast were OK.
Cons: Stop marketing as a double room a room that would barely work as a single room.
Good location but the room we received was a cubbyhole. There was not enough room to walk around the bed with the luggage in the room.

Great for a short stay in Pisa

We were looking for a good family hotel which was convenient for the sights of Pisa and for the railway station - this one fitted the bill.

Recommended Budget Hotel
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Stayed at Hotel Verdi in Feb 2013 with wife, two young children and my parents. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a budget hotel, that does exactly what it says on the tin, great location, quiet, fantastic local restaurants nearby, family friendly. Breakfast did the job, nothing amazing. You got cereal, croissants, bread rolls (with ham/cheese) and hot drinks. (Some fruit would have been nice) However, filled up on that before heading out for the day. Didn't see the bar open at all, didn't even notice any drinks stocked behind it but didn't need it so wasn't a problem for us. Rooms, basically like the breakfast, did a job. Everything was worn and well used but it was clean and more than adequate to sleep after a day out sightseeing. Location was great, 10/15 min walk to the leaning tower, 10/15 min walk to train station. The local restaurants down the adjoining alleys were great. Hardly saw any tourists compared to the amount hanging around the leaning tower. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Pisa on a budget. For the price I paid and the location, I was pleased on all categories. Taxi to hotel cost 17 Euros, think the hotel said it would be between 15-20 Euros. Ended up getting the train to the airport for return flight. Only 1.50 Eur per person for a 5 min train ride (Kids under 4 free). Train takes you right to the airport door.

The Hotel still needs updating, I have stayed here on and off for the last 10 years, and there have been no improvements Deco wise, but there are 2 computers at reception now.The rooms are always as clean as can be, taking into consideration how worn out the carpets are the cleaners do a good job. Staff are always helpful. Breakfast is good, coffee not so good..This Hotel is in a good position for me explore Pisa.

Clean efficient hotel, reasonably located
Posted Jan 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
Pisa is not a big place (you could walk from airport to centre in 30 mins if you wanted to) so nowhere is very far from anywhere else. Hotel Verdi is 15 mins walk to railway station, 15 mins from Leaning Tower, 5 mins from main shopping street, and there are restaurants scattered all around town. The hotel is spotlessly clean and whilst there were a few tiny late season maintenance niggles (mostly in the bathroom), there's nothing serious. If you want a hotel to be the centre piece of your holiday this isn't for you, but if you're after a decent bed, a nice shower and breakfast at a reasonable price Hotel Verdi works well.

Verdi - close but far

Close enough to all the (two sights) in Pisa, but not on any main street for traffic to keep you awake. The employees are very kind and helpful. We would stay again.
