Second visit: Much improved

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location. A quiet part of time but everything interesting is in easy walking distance.
This was our second stay at the Verdi in about nine months and we were given the same room! Much improved on last year, most noticeably in bathroom and plumbing upgrades. Breakfast has improved also. Some areas could be improved cosmetically with new plaster and paint.

Nice hotel with low rate

Posted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: It was very close to NIST. It was clean.
Cons: TV, I could tuned only to MTV. I wish I can find a way to watch another channel. Internet is not fast. It was ok but I perfer alittle bit faster.
Location: You can visit the Tower. it is very close to the NIST superior School.
this is my second time I stayed at Hotel Verdi. It is not at a very central location, however it is still 15 minutes walking distance to leaning tower. It is very close to NIST. it costs nearly 10e to the train station. it takes nearly 30 minutes to the train station.

One night in Pisa -

Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: location
Cons: general standard of repair around the rooms
Location: easy walking distance to Leaning tower and the cathedral
The hotel was well located near the centre of Pisa and close to the station. The room was rather dingy though and the soft furnishing were very dated. The shower room was OK though they obviously had had flooding problems in the shower room above ours. There were a number of places where the plaster was coming off the walls in the bedroom and the room used for breakfast. Breakfast was more or less OK. Some of the staff very excellent and some were less competent!

Okay

The hotel is in a good location and the room service is good. The rooms are a bit dated and could do with a coat of paint, re-carpeting etc...but for a budget hotel and good proximty to the city center it is not bad

Converted convent in the old part of town.

Posted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Very helpful staff who despite their lack of English and my pidgin-Italian provided a fab gluten-free breakfast each morning!
Cons: Had to pay extra for the gf breakfast which was a shame, but not a big deal.
This is a lovely quiet hotel, and they did a fantastic job of catering for my coeliac needs - senza glutine! It's about 30 minutes walking away from the Campo Dei Miracoli, and the same distance from the train station: but the advantage of being in the old part of town away from the tourist thoroughfares far outweighed any inconveniences. Besides, the walks to the sights were fun in themselves, taking us through a variety of back-streets past the ubiquitous cafes and ice-cream parlours. Just around the corner is a theatre and a cinema, and a lovely cafe/alternative bookshop which became our regular late night haunt! The hotel wasn't perfect but it was comfortable, and the Romanian Night Porter was happy to make us late night coffee for free in exchange to listening to his inside knowledge about the Pisan provincial mind-set!

Lovely Pisa

Posted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: Position
Cons: Needs update
Hotel verdi is in a good position - short taxi ride from airport, easy walk to the central station and close to the centre of the old town. Only problem is our room was very dark and a bit shabby. Buffet breakfast basic but ok.

Hotel Verdi Pisa

Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: location is excellent
Cons: the temperamental coffee machine in the breakfast room
Location: easy reach of major tourist sites, good access to shops, handy for buses and walking distance to railway station.
Hotel is basic but provides all that is required for a base within the city. Very hot when we stayed there so the air conditioning in the room really enabled us to cool down when we needed to and to sleep well.

Good Base from which to explore Pisa

Posted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Its informality and friendly staff.
Cons: Shabby internal decoration.
Location: Superb location for exploring Pisa on foot and convenient for station and airport. There is a taxi rank on the next street.
The Hotel Verdi is clearly in need of sprucing up - a good paint job and minor plastering would do wonders. It is very basic: no room service, no restaurant, no bar. (There is a bar but it is not open). But the staff are friendly and the location is quiet and incredibly convenient for old town Pisa, the railway station, the leaning tower and the river. Rooms are air-conditioned (vital in summer) and have personal safes and chiller cabinets (not quite fridges) which come empty but are very useful for storing fruit and cold drinks. The hotel does a splendid tourist map of Pisa, though you have to ask to find one. The Verdi is only two minutes' walk from the superb ice-cream stand in the Piazza Garibaldi and one minute from one of Pisa's best restaurants, La Pergoletta on the Via delle Belle Torri.

okay room, great staff

Posted Jul 31, 2013
Cons: The rooms need a little upgrading, especially worn carpets and our bathroom door wouldn't close properly.
Location: Great location, near a main street but not right on it so very quiet. We could easily walk to the tower, the train station, etc.
The staff were excellent and very helpful. Good location. The rooms seem a bit old and run down, but were comfortable and cool.
