beautiful viewsPosted Oct 6, 2013
Excellent hotel experience. Very clean, comfortable rooms with modern facilities and nice pool overlooking beautiful tuscan scenery. Short 10 walk into the city of Volterra with beautiful views along the way. Hotel staff very helpful in terms of helping us make reservations at restaurants in tuscany.

Location is a short walk into the town. Maybe 10-1Posted Aug 30, 2013
Pros: Pool very nice. View is awesome. Staff and restaurant food very good.
Cons: Could use a coat of paint.
Location: Wandered around town and thought I was in the 1400's. Really nice town.
The hotel is in need of a little work, but had a pleasant stay.

A relaxing spot with beautiful viewsPosted Jun 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean, attractive hotel with polite and attentive staff. A short (but quite uphill) walk into Volterra, but an easy walk downhill on the way back! Fresh pool towels available each day, we had a great view poolside across the hills, would recommend as a great place to stay and enjoy Volterra and/or explore other parts of Tuscany.

Nice quite hotel with great view of Tuscany HillsPosted May 20, 2013
Cons: breakfast should be included. All of our other hotels, breakfast was included.
After all the hustle and bustle of Rome, Florence etc., it was a pleasant change to stay at the hotel. It was a tranquil experience, nice swimming pool, and an incredible view from most everywhere of the Tuscany Hills. We went up into Volterra for a nice evening meal.

Lovely views, beautiful pool and a Spa to boot. This is a beautiful hotel nestled just below Volterre. Hotel restaurant is also fantastic. Thanks.

Great Place to Stay Near Center of VolterraPosted Oct 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
The Hotel is located a short, but very steep walk to the center of Volterra, through the magnificent Etruscan Arch or you can drive and park in the city's parking lot. The hotel has ample parking spaces (no extra fee). The rooms were quite spacious and very nicely decorated with Alabaster sconces. The wireless internet is included, however you need to ask for the code to access it. They said you can see Corsica on a clear day, unfortunately, we did not have any. There are 2 swimming pools, one for adults, the other for children. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Although, I had not tried it, the aromas emanating for it were delicious. In the evening, they have a very well stocked bar and they make a delicious Negroni. Thank you to the marvelous waitstaff. The next time I stay in Volterra; I will stay here. Bravo!
Holiday within a holidayPosted Sep 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
Fantastic hotel in a stunning location overlooking Tuscany-felt like a holiday within a holiday. Service is exmplary, helpful, warm and profressional. Rooms are spacious and very well serviced. Dinner was memorable in the restaurant and the pool! could have stayed far longer. The only drawback was the massive uphill hike to the old town-thank goodness we had a car-unless you are really fit.
The perfect place to stay for a Volterra visitPosted Jun 15, 2012 on Hotels.com
We loved this hotel, the staff, and the location. We wish we had stayed more than 2 nights. It was the best hotel we booked on our 3 week European vacation.

OKPosted May 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was a last minute find for us, booked online 2 days before we left for volterra. Overall it was..OK. it was an odd place because on one hand this place is trying to be a swanky hotel with the feel of one of those upscale, swanky hotels. But the end-result is the feel of a hostel. The bar/ breakfast service is unbelievably rude. I asked for more coffee one morning in Italian and was flat-out laughed at. Eventually I got them to give me more, but my breakfast was ruined after being humiliated. The folks at the front desk are nice, but not enough to make up for the others. I had the constant feeling I wasn;t a good enough guest for them, even though me and my husband were polite as can be. I wonder if they don't like Americans...The room was small with an uncomfortable bed and a bedspread that looked like it was 100 years old. The bathrooms are nice and newly renovated though. So overall I would not stay there again, and I found it overpriced for what you get.
