“comfortable. great price.”
this hotel did everything i needed. comfort, cleanliness, great price
“very good for the price”
Room was clean, staff were helpful and polite. would stay here again.
“Too noisy!”
I was placed on the 3rd floor just a few doors away from the facility's banquest room. People carried on late both on Thursday and on Saturday. If I were to stay here again, I would request a room as far as possible from the banquet room!
“Very good value”
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaner than some of the pricier hotels where I have stayed. The complementary breakfast was good and the attendant did a great job of keeping all the food items stocked. The only problem I had was that the dead bolt lock on the room door did not work. Since I was traveling alone, this was a major issue. However, I did not discover that it was broken until I was ready for bed and did not feel like getting dressed and waiting for someone to come up and fix it. So I shoved a chair in front of the door. When checking out the next day, the clerk asked if I had any problems with the room and I told her about the lock. I was just in town overnight for a funeral, so did not use the conference center or any of the other facilities of the hotel. Overall, it was a very good value for what I paid.
“OK for what it is.”
We were on a visit to kennywood. Though Expedia reported it as 5 miles away, the hotel said it was 8 miles. There was no shuttles. The drive was fine -- about 15 minutes. The room was fine, but the door offered NO sound protection -- as I heard everything in the hallway (too early in the morning) -- I checked twice to make sure my door was fully closed! It was. Plus, though I had a "do not disturb" sign on, the housecleaning, which was VERY LOUD knocking on each door and calling out, even knocked on my door, ignoring the sign. Front desk was curt but OK. Staff at breakfast buffet, which ends by 9:30, was also somewhat abrupt.
“Ok Hotel”
I have stayed here before. I stayed here to visit my family, for my fathers funeral and now my mothers. They do offer a bereavement discount. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is a descent place to stay. The hotel is nice place to stay over all. The hotel also has a nice restaurant. The one problem I had this time was that the bed spread had spots and the blanket had hair on it. I have heard that hotels do not wash blankets and bed spreads and this proves it. Not sure I will stay here again.
“Nice place but nothing fancy”
Stay here for the INPEX Show in June. Drive TO the show much easier and faster than the drive back but that's the driving in Pittsburgh for you. A nice hotel, but nothing fancy. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast in the morning and a bar. Hate hotels without a real bar. All in all this was a good choice for us. All we really needed to do was sleep there and it served its purpose.
“Comfortable for the price”
The hotel is located off the Interstate and is about 20 minutes from Pittsburgh downtown depending on time of day and traffic. It is an older hotel and could use new carpets especially in the halls. However, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and generally comfortable. There is a major shopping area in the suburbs fairly close by for any shopping needs. They serve a wide variety of cereal, muffins, waffles for breakfast which comes with the room. I choose to stay there when I go to visit Carnegie Mellon University, because it is reasonably priced and not that far out.
“Well worth the money, and the commute to PITT U”
Except for the too soft, too small pillows (I will never travel again without my own pillow) our room was quite nice. Refrig. and the sliding patio door for a second easy access to our car were v. apprecciated. It's only 7 miles from PITT U, but be sure to allow a lot of extra time, if you are there for a college event, due to the tunnel traffic. But my husband and I agreed it was well worth the more than half the price savings over the big chain PITT hotels! especially at Spring graduation price increase time. Restaurant is small & simple, but the free hot breakfast was good enough for us. Very friendly, helpful staff.
