Nice hotel close to Consol Energy Center and down.Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: The staff and close proximity to Consol Energy Center.
Location: The Consol Energy Center is a five minute walk. The Strip district is a five minute drive.
Friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean and the bed was excellent. Should have brought a hair dryer. Not provided in the room.

Happy to be stuck!Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: The Staff is amazing! They made being stuck in Pittsburgh a fun experience. They were pleasant, helpful and the service was really fast.
Cons: Ummm, perhaps this Double Tree could be the standard by which other Double Tree hotels are measured?
Location: Warhol Museum, Concerts
I booked this hotel through Expedia and than got really sick. My adult children (18, 19, & 23) had to go without me. I sent my credit card along, but was worried they would have problems checking in. My daughter explained the situation and the staff didn't give them any trouble. They are allergic to down so ordered different pillows. Pillows arrived in less than 10 minutes. My kids used the hotels shuttle service to go to a concert . It was great and the driver friendly. There was an ice storm that night and I didn't want the kids to make the 6 hour drive home on bad roads. The hotel staff walked my kids through how to rebook through Expedia to get the same rate as the night before....WOW! My kids raved about how helpful all the staff at the front desk were. Room service was fast and the food was good. They ate at the hotel restaurant and said the service and food were amazing. When they first got there, the kids took tons of pics of the room, even under the beds. Great room, VERY clean. I am one happy Momma!

The room is definitely dated.Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Location. Location, Location.
Cons: More updated, cleaner rooms. They were 'clean' but the air was 'old' as was the bathroom.
Location: Consul Energy Center--hockey, culture! Strip District. Cultural/theater district
The room had nothing special about it. It had the smell of an aged hotel. Best part is the location right downtown and next to the Consul Energy Center. Easy walking to some downtown establishments. Short drive to Strip District.

Decent hotel close to Consol CenterPosted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: Close to Consol Center. Chocolate chip cookies!
Cons: More spacious bathrooms (and move the toilet paper holders).
Location: Close to Consol Center and always different things to do and see in Pittsburgh- it's a great city!
This hotel seems a little older but it was fine. It is a little over a block from the Consol Center (although there is a Marriott right next to it that I was aware of). We got a warm, yummy chocolate chip cookie when checking in and the hotel staff was very nice. You do have to pull your car into their garage and they have valets inside to park it. The heat in our room (queen suite - spacious) was not working, and took me a few tries to reach someone in Guest Relations. However, once I did, they immediately sent a maintenance man, who fixed the problem. The bathroom is rather small and the toilet paper holder is a far reach diagonal and across the wall! We were only there for one night, but I wouldn't want to be there much longer than that.

Location!!Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Beds were really comfy and staff was nice and friendly.
Cons: Pillows weren't so great.
Location: Close to everything.
Went for the weekend to do some Christmas shopping. The location was great, and the weather was nice for the time of year so we walked down town in the evening. Market Square was great, had local crafters set up as well as Santa Claus!!! Also had public ice skating in the area. My husband and I will definitely go back!

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Great location. Close to the T.
Location: We took the train (fare free) to both the children's museum and the science center.
Parking attendants very unfriendly. Though this was at the hotel, they were not hotel employees. The front desk was very apologetic. The rest of the stay exceeded expectations.

Pros: location, cleanliness and staff. also parking garage attached is so convenient.
Location: Hockey at Consol is a short walk
This is a very nice, clean, comfortable hotel in downtown p\Pittsburgh. Friendly and accomodating staff. Stayed there for a Pens game, close walk to Consol Energy Center. We left our iphone charger plugged in our room by accident, called the hotel when we arrived home and the housekeeping staff had already turned it into lost&found with our room number. It was promptly mailed it to our home. Much appreciated!
