Mid Town Pittsburgh Hotel

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Location, Amenities, and staff
Cons: Although there is always room for improvement, nothing jumps out in my mind
Location: Real close to the consul energy center where the Penguins play. PNC park and the strip district can be reached by walking in about 30 minutes or less
We stayed at this motel about 3 or 4 times now and it is a great motel in a great location. Staff were super friendly and so willing to help in any way. They provide a shuttle service to most places although we walked to the strip district and also back from the Pirate Game at PNC Park. Nice inside pool and fitness room. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the downtown area.

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Close to the start of the marathon. Nice workout room and pool area.
Cons: Was clean and up to standard.
Location: Near the downtown area. I stayed here because it was close to the marathon start. However, there is not much to do in the Pittsburgh downtown area.
No issues. I would recommend this hotel as it is clean, nice and has a decent restaurant with outdoor seating which was nice on a pleasant afternoon.

Convenient location

Posted May 4, 2015
Bathroom did not have ventilation nor did it have room to place your toiletries. I did not like the stand alone sink. Valet parking was too expensive so we took the risk of parking along side street and paid the meter. On the other hand the room was very clean and had a good view. Enjoyed the free warm cookies and bottled water each day and staff was very friendly. Also had a 7 Eleven right Next door which was very convenient.

Good location, but a few issues.

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Employees were very pleasant, room was spacious and bed/pillows were very comfortable.
Cons: Room noise could be reduced and parking issues at least noted on website.
Was looking for a place to stay when picking our daughter up from Pitt when our usual hotel was booked. Location was fairly good, check-in was easy. Room however was noisy all night, even on the 12th floor. The hotel has parking for an extra charge, but nowhere do they mention that there is a height limit.....something people with SUVs or pick-up trucks would need to know. Reportedly there is overflow parking somewhat nearby, but not sure how walking would be late at night. Our stay was fine, but probably wouldn't personally stay here again.

Nice hotel in a good downtown location.

We received warm cookies at check in, bonus. The air conditioning was broken in our room so we were upgraded to a suite which was great. They sent maintenance up right away when we called about the AC. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful. The hotel is right next to the UPMC tower and we could see the Consol energy center from our room so the location downtown is great. We came to PGH for the Pirates Opening Day and PNC park was a 10 minute walk from the hotel which was nice. Pets are allowed so we would definitely bring our dog next stay!

Visit to Peguins game

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms, pool
Cons: Faster service in the Tap Room
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The pool and exercise room were convenient and well-equipped. My two negative points - there was a sorority party going on and despite asking the front desk to put my grandson and me in a quiet room, and we were put on the floor occupied by many of the partyers who had plenty to drink and made noise throughout the night. I called the desk several times to ask them to tone down the partyers but to no avail. I finally got up and went to the room below us who was playing loud music and asked them to turn it down. After the second trip down, they finally lowered the volume. My second negative us that we left a couple of small bags at the car loading site, one of which contained my grandson's hockey jersey. When we called back to say we had inadvertently left it, the garage attendants said they saw the bags but were too busy to go get them and ho;d the,m. When they look again after 30 minutes the bags were gone.

Not bad but I'd never stay here again.

It's confusing to find the parking entrance, which is worse during Penguins games. It's bad enough that parking isn't included in the price of the room but to top it off, they limited the number of parking available to hotel guests so they can make more money selling spaces for the game. Nice room but tiny beds. And the air conditioner sounds like a constantly leaking balloon.
