Our stay at Mainstay Suites in Pittsburgh, PA

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: It's close to Pitt Int. Airport. And, they provide shuttle service too and from.
Cons: N/A
Location: There are variety of different Restaurant's & Shopping only a mile away.
We always stay here before we fly out of Pitt Int. Airport. Because, it's convenient. The shuttle service is one of the reasons why we stay here. There is no charge for leaving your car parked while you're on Vacation. Where as most of the other hotels charge a daily fee. But, if Mainstay Suites would change their policy, then, we would consider other options. So, hopefully, they will continue to offer this service.

Pros: Loved the kitchen spacing but I was not staying there long enough to use it. Coffee provided in the room.
Cons: Either more restaurant service within the motel or food to buy that you could cook in your rooms.
Hotel was nice. Items were there for a nice long stay with cooking abilities. Shuttle serve was great and very helpful as to how to get checked in for my flight.

Disappointing experience. Uncomfortable bed, loud heating unit, sofa in poor condition, breakfast not up to typical hotel standards.

shuttle service l stops 10p starts 530a

Posted Jan 24, 2015 on Hotels.com
First service is a 2 for one big reason. Hotel shuttle stops running at 10pm. If your flight is late you will need to pay for your own shuttle to hotel they wont pick you up. Also verify the earliest shuttle if their one van. Is full you will be paying your own way to airport. Rooms are very largethe couch roll out bed very uncomfortable do an adult and you will need to ask for the linens for it or at least we did. Ok afor kids I guess. Kitchen is nice for price it is great deal besides shuttle which face it is why most of us stay at airport hotels. We were on 530 shuttle first one..only one left and breakfast started at 6am so be free breakfast. There is only room for 5 on shuttle and luggage at one large and one carryone and personal item barely fit. Bottom line they can only take 10 people to airport every hour if they wall have luggage and you cant book your shutte in advance till you get to hotel. I think it would be a big problem on a Saturday if you and everyone else have am flights. Yes price is great. Hotel staff is nice and they are renovating now. Legistic, nightmare shuttle. Nice free parkin

Expected more for what you pay.

The hotel is very outdated. It looks and feels like a converted nursing home. The entrance is not very formal and the reception is tucked back in an awkward room. Inside the rooms; there are kitchens from the 70/80's, dingy carpet, dirty walls and the bed is rock hard and probably also from the 70's. This hotel should be in the <$60 per night category. I expected more for what I paid.

Just a couple nights

Posted Nov 4, 2014
I needed a room for just a couple nights. I have been trying different hotels in the area and of the moderately priced ones this was one of the better ones. There was not a pervasive hallway odor from occupants' varied diets. The room did not feel small, although it would have been nice to have a loveseat instead of an arm chair - okay for a single but not sufficient for a couple. The bathroom was also a little tight. There is a kitchenette which I only used for the refrigerator. The supplied dishware was 2 plates, 2 large glasses, 2 knives, etc. It might be possible to call the front desk and get more but I didn't because I didn't have the need on this visit.

Close to airport

Posted Oct 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
We have stayed here before and like it's proximity to the Pittsburgh Airport and free parking. The only small beef I have with the facility is the lack of an ice machine in the whole complex. If you need ice, you have to ask the desk clerk to open up the pantry to get ice.
