I am a country girl, and coming to this hotel, for a penguins game was a whole new world for me. Very Hussle and bussle. The confusion of parking, and then trying to find out where you get breakfast, drinks was mind boggling. Also, the elevator, no thank you. 50 ppl in on shaft. That's what my nightmares were made of. All in all, I would come back, just not for a big venue.

We stayed here when we were in town for a hockey game at PPG Paints Arena, which was only a few minutes away when walking. The location of the hotel in proximity to the arena was great, however everything else about our stay was just okay. Elevators often became very crowded with very long lineups, room did not come with amenities we were expecting (such as a mini fridge), and the bathroom in our room was quite small. We did appreciate being able to check in early, not sure if we would return to this hotel.

Very convenient to the PPG arena where we were gong that night. Rooms are very dated. The magnetic strip on the fridge door was broken so the door would not shut at all. The HVAC system was terrible. They had it set to 60F but it felt more like 80 in the room. The 2 windows could be opened only 4 inches but they had no screens. Didn't know what might crawl or fly in. The pub in the lobby was nice...good food and nice staff. The hotel was packed due to a hockey game across the street and the 3 elevators were not nearly enough. To top it off, there wasn't even an option to take the stairs, not even from the parking garage to the lobby.

The hotel itself is very nice and we’ll likely stay there again. This time, however, wasn’t the best experience. It started when we showed up at 10:30pm to check in and the front desk staff said “ugh you guys are here to check in?! I was just about to go on break”. I booked through an external app and our room was already paid in full, so she was only supposed to put a $100 hold on my card. Well she charged me the full cost of the room for the whole weekend. A mistake I didn’t notice until my card wouldn’t work at Starbucks the next day, so that meant all the money on my card wasn’t able to be used for my weekend trip because it wouldn’t be refunded until the bank opened on Monday. Luckily, a family member was able to electronically send me money to save my trip, but to say I was annoyed would be an understatement. The walking distance to PPG is why we booked here, getting a room on the 21st floor was a huge bonus.

You can't beat the location of this property for events at PPG Paints Arena. The only downside is when there is a massive event, the hotel isn't staffed for it, so be prepared for long lines at the check-in desk, delayed check-in, & long lines for elevators. Our bathroom also had a water leak that caused a half-inch of standing water on the floor of our bathroom. They addressed it, but it didn't instill a lot of confidence

Room wasn't ready at check in. The basic use of a hotel room is being able to sleep. There was not only noise (to loud to be ignored even with noise canceling headphones on) but my room had near constant vibration from the elevators, a plumbing pipe running water constantly, and a stupid vent that's too close to a guest room on the roof and insanely loud. I can't believe this was even a room in a Marriott hotel. I'd describe this property as a pig with lipstick and a tacky outfit. Very disappointing. The ONLY good thing. Location. The location is the only reason they get away with this level of customer care.

We came to watch a Penguins game so the 2 minute walk to the arena was awesome. Hotel was well kept and clean although showing its age. My only real issue is the bathroom is very tight for 4 people. We have to help bathe our kids so it was a bit awkward to do that. But overall it was a great place to stay!!

When we walked in the room it was 53 degrees. We called the engineer and about midnight it was 90 degrees. The shower was covered in soap scum. I guess you have to request housekeeping. I wish someone would have mentioned that when we checked in. There was only one tiny trash can in our room so we had to call to have our garbage emptied.

Staff goes above and beyond to make the guests comfortable, very accommodating. During our last stay, the staff helped us with our reservation when Expedia told us untruths about changing our reservation. My husband and I stay there any time we come down for a Pens' game or other PPG events. Would not stay anywhere else.

We always have stayed here whenever we traveled to Pittsburgh. This trip was not the best. We had no hot water whatsoever. And I looked back at reviews from months ago and it has been like that for months. And the heat didn't work at all. It was slightly warm and never did heat the room and it's winter! Will be checking out another hotel next time we visit.

The hotel had a classic or vintage feel to it. Could use some updating in certain areas. It was very clean. The bar prices were too high. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We went during a Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game in the lobby was very busy due to hockey fans at the bar. The staff seem used to this kind of event, and worked very hard to accommodate.

In town to see the Pens retire Jagr's number, so reserved a room for Sunday night. Check-in early, but the room was not ready. Apparently Drake was in town the night before and those guests were hard on the housekeeping. No big deal-game was at 6, surely the room will be ready at 930 when I am back, right? Wrong. I waited in line to check-in and get a room key for 25 minutes, and it was almost 10pm at this point, so I decided I'll just drive 5 hours home. The great night continued when the valet would not get my car unless I paid him $40. So, not only was my room not ready at 10pm, the valet robbed me of $40 on the way out. At least seeing Jagr's number retired was worth it, but I'll never step foot on this hotel property again, and would suggest you do the same.
