Not really close to anything in walking distance

Posted Jun 29, 2015
We felt like we were in a not-so-nice part of town. The main tourist attractions and restaurants and shops were not in walking distance so we had to drive; not that we felt safe walking around there.

Dear Valued Guest, I am sorry to learn that you felt that the area where the hotel was situated was not safe. To bring clarity to this matter the hotel is in a residential neighborhood named Schenley Farms. It is a historic district that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. True any of the tourist attractions would not be in walking district, but the hotel is in proximity to a vibrant educational area with numerous museums, a haute couture shopping area, and nationally recognized restaurants. All of this is within three miles of the property and the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to all of it. Perhaps if your travels bring you back to the area you will give our property another chance. Kind regards, RI Management

It was Ok but not the best value. I enjoyed the pool. The continental breakfast was exceptional for a hotel.

Pros: The free breakfast was very good. The terrace was very nice and comfortable to sit outside and socialize.
Cons: The sofa bed mattress was very uncomfortable
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable except for the sofa bed. It is a convenient location close to the university and had a free campus shuttle. The only other negative was having to pay $15.00 per night for parking

Not as "pet friendly" as you're led to believe.

Posted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Nice staff
Location: Close to university, which is what we were looking for. No restaurant or park within walking distance though, and surroundings not very pleasant.
I was shocked to find out on arrival that there is a $100 non refundable pet fee for a single night!!! Apparently this is a Marriott policy, but other hotels in the area charge anywhere from nothing, to 10-25$,to a $50 refundable deposit. And there is really no area easy to walk dogs from the hotel...busy street w lots of trash along broken sidewalks. Also a very odd layout of the hotel requires an elevator up from ground floor to reception, then another elevator up to rooms. Elevators were quick, staff was very friendly, but I won't stay here again. Fees like that need to be clearly stated at the time of online booking.

Dear Valued Guest, We are sorry that you were not aware of the pet fee. All information about the hotel comes from the hotel home page and is stated on the Expedia page when booking this property . The pet fee is $100 per stay. In your case it was for one night. For a guest staying a week it is still $100 for the entire stay. There are many options open to travelers. Perhaps our property is not a good fit for your needs. It is always a best practice to weigh all of the available options. Perhaps for a future stay our property will be a better option. Kind regards, RI Management

Flew to Pittsburgh early, went to hotel and dropped off our bags. They were incredibly accommodating.
