Nice hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Free parking, free breakfast, spacious room
Cons: Label the hotel elevators better. It's a bit confusing since there is one set for leaving and one for internal use.
I was there for one night and had an enjoyable stay. I thought the rates were a deal for the size room I had.

Don't know who to blame

Posted Jul 21, 2014
I picked this hotel for the full kitchen. Reserved the room two months in advance for a bodybuilding show. When I arrived I was informed that I did not have a room for the first night before the show. Overbooked. They shipped me off to a Comfort Inn done the street without even a microwave. Screwed up my meal prep the night before a show.!!!!!!! Trained all year to mess it up the night before a major competition.

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience that was caused in being walked to the Courtyard. Sometimes due to our close association with the neighboring hospitals individuals due to their medical conditions and treatments are forced to extend their stays. We attempted to make every adjustment to make your stay as seamless as possible even contacting Expedia to ensure that your night spent at the Courtyard was refunded to you. Please accept our apologies for this unfortunate situation.

Close to Hospital

Posted Jul 17, 2014
We were in town because of medical reasons & needed a hotel near UPMC. I wanted a hotel that was comfortable & clean. The Residence Inn was like home away from home. My son & I were comfortable & relaxed. It was also nice to be able to take my son to the pool to burn off some energy while my husband was in the hospital. Staff was very courteous.

We are sorry to hear about experiences that are not exceptional. Our staff is trained to offer recovery when situations are less than perfect. when it is brought to our attention. As to the room keys there are conditions that cause the keys to lose their programming, for this we apologize. We know that the process of reprogamming the room key can be an incovienience. To ensure that no matter where you may stay it is important for hotel staff to know when a situation or a condition within the hotel is not to your liking. We hope that if your needs for accomodations brings you to the area we will get a second chance to be your hotel of choice.

make a different choice

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: very nice outside patio area adjacent to dining area
Cons: very poor mattress, both my wife and myself extremely unpleasant experience in trying to get a good nights sleep
poor mattress, over priced, difficult to find, very poor inside the hotel traffic pattern- took 1 elevator up from the garage, then had to transfer to another elevator down the hall to get to the room

Dear Richard, We are sorry that your most recent visit to our property was memorable as indicated by your comments for all the wrong reasons. It our goal to create a great guest experience for each of our guests. As to your comments regarding the matress, we have had comments from guests on this very forum that have raved about their matress. We know that there is no substitue for ones own bed. We take great pains to establish an environment that equels or exceeds ones home . In your case we failed. I can say that later this year our property is scheduled for a total renovation and your comments will be considered in the final analysis. We are aware that the consumer has many options when it comes to hotel accomodations. We hope that you will give us another opportunity in the future.

It is a very nice hotel to stay in. The only thing missing is a coffee shop where you can have lunch and dinner.

Good location near the universities

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Everything work, wifi etc...
Cons: Rooms are big but the hotel is ready for a decorating update
Location: Located within walking distance (a bit of a hike) to the two major colleges
Hotel staff was very helpful and rooms were clean. Good value but the hotel is just off the beaten track and the atmosphere is a bit unorthodox. Lacks a bar and the breakfast is just ok.

Just right

Posted May 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
In Pittsburgh for my son's graduation from CMU, I originally booked the room at Residence Inn because of the lower price. The room turned out to be perfect- the view from the 5th floor was gorgeous (I could see a great view of the Cathedral of Learning). While the hotel was not renovated like others at which I'd stayed, everything was really clean and in excellent shape. The bed was super cozy and the all white, cotton comforters were luxurious. I'd definitely go back there. One downside was that parking in the garage costs $15 but you can easily find a spot on the street outside the hotel so it turned out to be fine.
