Nice, cheap place to stay, but really thin wallsPosted Oct 21, 2013
I found the room to be better than I expected for the price. The staff were friendly. The room was clean. The walls, however, are very thin. You can clearly hear hallway noise and other guests in adjoining rooms and the floor above. Unfortunately the hotel was at capacity with quite a few party-goers during my stay. This did not allow sound sleeping (especially when loud guests return from the club at 4:00am). I don't think there's really anything that can be done, so just hope for a quieter crowd.

Average hotel with nice staffPosted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: Staff and in general nice hotel
Cons: Make the rooms more sound proof from rooms that are next to eachother and above you
Location: Plenty of food places and not far from Monroeville. Very positive aspect !!!
The only 2 things that weren't very pleasant were the people in the room next to me being very loud and inconsiderate o the wee hours of the night and the rooms do NOT very good at keeping outside noise out. The room was clean no odor and everything was good. Breakfast was fresh and the staff was very hepfull. They gave me a new room because of the jerks next to me and I was actually able to sleep the rest of the nights I was there. Overall it was a nice stay

Smelly!Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: Room was ok
Cons: carpet, hallway lighting and smell of cigarettes!
Location: We only stopped here on our way to visit a friend so we did not venture out and try anything and left the next morning ASAP.
The hotel is very smelly with cigarette smoke even in the non-smoking rooms which we had one of them. The hallways and stairs are very dark and carpet is stained in multiple areas. The front desk people were nice and friendly and the room itself was ok, but did smell of cigarette smoke.

Quite OK for a night's stayPosted Sep 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
We've stayed a few times with Super8 before, so we knew what we will get. The room was quite spacious and clean. Although the hotel, room that we stayed, appliances (tv, ac etv) were dated, the bathtub etc looked new and clean. The area surrounding the hotel looked like a run down place. As it was just a night, we did not bother too much.

Perfect for a trip where you're out a lotPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: The staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfortability of the bed, that I could get "The Food Network". The shower was also incredible!
Cons: Making sure that the hallways and stairwells are clean. A hot breakfast would be amazing but for the price its probably not fiscally possible!
Location: Pittsburgh. Lots of events going on inside and outside the city (livingpittsburgh.com). A few bars/restaurants close by.
The room was clean (no bed bugs that I could find!) and my bed was very comfortable. I had a small refrigerator which was nice although the freezer part of it was full of frost and I couldn't get anything in it. There was a tv and cable. The continental breakfast was typical for a "cold" breakfast but everything looked fresh! The only real big issue I had was that there was a lot of "bits and pieces" in the hotel stairwell that really drove me nuts. There bits of white stuff and some dirt and it could have easily come up with a vacuum. I do know that they owned vacuums because they were clearly being used in the rooms. The staff was very nice and accommodating. If I come back to the area I will probably stay here again. It was inexpensive and I felt comfortable in the room. They did have the weirdest keys I've ever seen at a hotel though, more like microchips than a key or a card. They also had great showers with showerheads that you could adjust the spray with.

an awesome deal!Posted Aug 30, 2013
Location: Fairly close to Pittsburgh (only about 20-30 minute drive)
This little hotel was fantastic! The rooms were very clean and everything worked perfectly. The bathroom was sparkling clean as well (I'm not much of a bubble-bath person but this bathtub made me want to become one!) The staff was very friendly and nice to us. The continental breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but it was good and served it's purpose. Last but not least, the beds and pillows were SO COMFY. Even comfier than my own bed at home (I didn't want to leave!) I can't imagine why anyone would want/need anything more, especially for the low price! Overall it was a fantastic overnight stay and I'll definitely be coming back when I visit Pittsburgh again.

Good value, good for a sleep for a night or 2.Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: Room, location.
Cons: Housekeepers manners
Location: Hindu temple that is a short 10 min drive, Downtown Monroeville is 10 minutes as well
The Super 8 call centre sucks. Dont bother calling them...ever. I called to ask a question since I was visiting a temple nearby and have a child (yeah, I get a little picky about things when it comes to my baby), but the girl I spoke to was either sleepy, tired, or disinterested or maybe all of it. Nevertheless. Coming back to the hotel, I was actually surprised. I was expecting something more "motel" like if you know what i mean, but the entrance was pleasing, the room was sizeable, bed was comfortable. Staff - my rating is because of the housekeeping person. I got late checking out by an hour because I got delayed at where I was in the morning. Guy comes in with a sweet talking gent and has this grumpy stare fixed on me for the whole time. This after I had informed the front desk gent that I might be late checking out. Anyway, I got charged for checking out at 12:00 instead of 11:00, which I found ridiculous - not that there were people lining up outside for a room. RIDICULOUS! Anyway, the lady at the front desk was nice to me unlike the housekeeper. Breakfast is a decent spread, wi-fi kept connecting on & off. Sheets were clean and carpet didn't stink. Walked in and the room was nice & cool with the air-conditioning on, so nice touch there.

I could feel Norman Bates lurking in the hallwayPosted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: A very nice lady that checked us in
Cons: Burning down entire building
Location: Left two hours before daylight. We were scared to stay longer
My wife and I have stayed in hotels from Jacksonville,Fl. to Boston,Mass. to Milwaukee Wisconsin, and this hotel was the worst one we have ever stayed at.From the stains in the carpet to the filthiness of the towels to the smells in the room,it was the worst ever.DON'T STAY THERE!
