Great old building

Posted Apr 11, 2014
This is a beautiful old building; the rooms have high ceilings. It's close to the Warhol Museum, the ball park, and downtown.

Charming Bed and Breakfast

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff were extremely courtous and helpful. Excellent shuttle service.
Location: Casino, Downtown Pittsburgh, Sports Arenas and Cultural District
My husband & I stayed for one night. Hotel is convenient for going to casino and downtown Pittsburgh. The room was a little on the small side. Overall, very nice for short stays.

Great romantic getaway location.

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: Everything about the hotel was great.
Cons: Nothing could be improved.
Location: The location was close to downtown, but the neighborhood seemed a little dicey at night.
We were looking for a unique place to stay for our getaway, romantic weekend; the Priory definitely fit the bill.

very nice - quality hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: small, quaint and affordable.
Cons: bar prices were a little high and the bar MONK didn't stay open late :(
Location: location is good to restaurants and grocery store...even though close to the city, it seemed a distance given you had to cross the bridge(s) and water
The hotel is very nice...close to restaurants and downtown Pittsburgh sporting events, the River walk and many events and museums. The staff is knowledgeable of the area and friendly - especially the morning breakfast 'crew'. The parking is free - which is nice but the lot tends to fill quickly. The room was small, very clean and appropriate. the hotel also offers a business office area and exercise room - which were great! Will definitely stay at this boutique hotel again!

Most surprising

It was a charming hotel, convenient and felt I was in Paris or some other European hotel - though the room was much larger and comfortable than overseas. It was a pleasure.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Priory--a lovely B&B in downtown Pittsburgh--great location: close to the Warhol, PNC Park, and the Strip.

Wonderful room!

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Pros: Spacious rooms and the wonderful hotel staff.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: It's about a 10 minute walk from the subway to bring you into downtonn Pittsburgh.
The hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was also very nice and spacious! The location was great with free parking. However, the neighborhood seemed a bit sketchy at night.

Unique, subtly beautiful inside and out

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Think I already said it, but Monk's Bar, small, eclectic, excellent food, Kim totally cool. Take a walk inside and out-you'll be glad you did.
Cons: Complimentary ice water/coffee tea set out till a reasonable hour would be nice.
Location: Their shuttle will take you to the square, Consol Energy, PNC Park, Heinz Field, lot of local eateries just ask & they'll let you know.
We have been to the Priory for wedding receptions which were outstanding - but had never stayed at the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised, old world classic, quiet, you are surrounded by the feel of the gentle people that pasted thru the corridors and the monks rooms so many years ago. Our room was a queen size bedroom, very nice bathroom amenities. I was going to take a shower, but there was a minor problem with the faucet handle. It really wasn't that big of a thing, but management insisted on moving us to an upgraded king room, they(thank you Henry) were excellent about it. The place is a "hidden gem". Oh sorry Hampton Inn, but I like your free breakfasts-they're good, but The Priory knocks it out of the park! I don't know where they got the pastries - yumm, but the fresh ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, let alone yogurt, cereal, juices, -waitstaff excellent. Can't wait to come up with another reason to be in Pittsburgh again and stay at the Priory.

Older hotel. Not the greatest area

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Older hotel. Poor wifi. Room smelled like sewer gas (I believe shower trap had dried up??). Not the greatest area if town. Staff was very nice and accommodating. They had a free shuttle which would take you anywhere downtown. Overall a little disappointing.
