Beautiful hotel, though the cooler was locked

My ward and I stayed in a lovely king room on the 18th floor. It was a busy weekend, and every elevator we were on was jam packed. The room had a sign on their mini-bar stating that it was discontinued and was now used as a cooler, but it was locked. No problem, as I just got some ice from the 17th floor (18th floor ice machine was out of commission. ) Overall a good stay, though there were a few inconveniences.

There for the Steelers' playoff game. Staff were very accommodating and handled The influx of people well. We will stay there when we come back next year.

First time staying here, I would stay here again.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It is in the city and we had a nice view from our room. The hotel staff were all very friendly. The beds were comfortable. There was a mini refrigerator in the room and a safe, which was nice. What could make this hotel 5 stars all around would be bigger televisions and some interior updating inside the rooms, like carpeting. However, I would definitely stay here again.

Good Hotel

Cons: Tell the patrons that there is going to be an interruption in the elevators between certain times.
The Westin was great for my son as he was able to meet a number of the members of the Cinncy Bengals. It is a short 10 minute walk to the Consol Centre and very close to restaurants. The room was clean with a nice view of the river. Unfortunately the Bengals arrival necessitated a 23 flight walk in the stairwell (after a 5 minute wait) as all of the elevators were "on hold" during their arrival. Luckily it was down to the lobby. The lobby was under repair due to restaurant upgrades, so the big Christmas tree wasn't out this year, but they did acknowledge that and were willing to offer a reduced stay rate to compensate. All in all, a great stay with a great staff.

Disappointed

I was charged $60 dollars after my stay at the Westin for no reason. I was unable to get in touch with the hotel today when I called but will call tomorrow again until I figure out why the overage charge. Also disappointed in the price of the room.

Stayed at the Westin for New Year's Eve and it was located perfectly for all of the activities and fireworks show at midnight. The room was nice and the view was amazing :) would definitely return!

Disappointed Guest

Pros: It was very clean and the hotel staff was very polite, pleasant and kind.
Location: It's right near Pittsburgh's cultural district. There are tons of things to do/see, and plenty of good restaurants.
My husband and I stay one night at The Westin. While the lobby was pretty and the room was clean, we will not be staying at this hotel a second time. We both had a horrible sleep because all of the sheets, pillow covers and comforter were so badly starched/bleached that it felt like you were sleeping on/in newspapers. All the towels in the bathroom were just at bad. The television sound kept going in and out and it took over an hour for the room to cool down from when I first checked in (it was like walking into a sauna).

Renovations in progress

I'm sure this hotel will be better after the renovations are complete. The lobby is currently torn up and there is no place to get food late at night. There was a lot of banging early in the morning -- don't know if it was elevator work or other renovation work. The room itself needs maintenance -- peeling paint, missing grout and stained grout on the bathroom vanity/sink and loose outlets on the desk. Garage was full when we arrived, but we parked in a public garage a block away for less than the hotel garage rate. The beds and linens were comfortable and the free chocolate bar from a local company was delicious.
