Decent hotel with minimum ammenities.

I paid $78 a night through expedia for this hotel, so I do not have a whole lot to complain about. The restraunt downstairs was packed full and there only seemed to be a bartender and occassionally a waitress serving everyone. I waited almost twenty minutes for one bud light. No microwave or fridge in rooms. Another customer had asked if they had microwaves available for use and the desk attendant only stated "No. We are working on it.". I would say if you can get a deal such as mine it is a wonderful place to stay. Otherwise, the $170 regularl nightly fee is not worth it.

Overall experience was good, nice view from hotel room, but check in and out times are very inconvenient for people traveling, and room cleaners didn't go into the room the whole time I stayed

Great corner room. Only issue was shower leaked water all over bathroom floor. Walk in unit that did not contain water flow. Otherwise, great view, comfortable bedding. And good amenities.

Great experience :)!

Pros: The staff were nice and friendly.
Cons: Refill water for the guests who stays for more than 2 days.
Location: Nothing was nearby. I could hardly find a decent place to eat.
I stayed in a 1 King bedroom. It rained the whole time, so I stayed in my room most of the time. I didn't get to utilize the facilities as much but the people are friendly and nice. The room isn't maintained daily unless you remember to place a flyer on your bed to change the sheets. Other than that, I don't think they vacuumed unless you're leaving. Overall, everything is great. I got a good deal.

Quick weekend trip to Pittsburgh

Posted Dec 8, 2014
The hotel was easy to find, check in was quick, and the room was nice with a decent view (mostly buildings but a sliver of river/bridge/mountains). The hotel is in a great area located around lots of good restaurants.

Weekend in Pittsburgh

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: Great location. Great staff
Cons: I would rather deal with the small room than the ice cold shower. Next time they remodel, the shower handles need to be moved.
Location: It's close to the Strip (restaurant district), Cultural District, sports, museums, and concert venues. Shopping is good near colleges.
We take many weekends away to Pittsburgh and the Wyndham downtown always seems to have the best rates when we want to stay downtown and the valet parking isn't much more than self parking. The staff is always professional and considerate. The rooms are always clean. The place is a madhouse when the Steelers have a home game, but that's part of the fun. My only complaint is the room itself. The standard king room is a postage stamp. I have to put my suitcase on the desk just so I can walk around the bed. The shower looks "modern" with an all glass enclosure, but you actually have to go all the way in to turn it on, which means every shower starts with a cold blast of water. But these are minor inconveniences and we'll continue to stay there as long as the rates are competitive.

Dear Jim, It is great to have you stay with us for the Steelers games. We hope you will consider us your home-away-from-home. We will bring your concern about the shower design to our leaders for their consideration on our future renovations. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you back!

This hotel is not what it used to be!

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Check-in process, valet parking.
Cons: Cleanliness and concierge service.
Location: Near Heinz Field and PNC Park. Near downtown Pitt.
We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past as it is located favorably for Steeler games, which we attend. We stayed on 11/29 and 11/30. The valet service was outstanding. The initial check-in was quick and without incident. Then, we arrived at our room. The shower curtain was covered with black mold. There were pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and in the shower. The exterior window was filthy, to put it mildly. The television worked part of the time and we soon discovered that we simply had to turn it on and back off repeatedly and would eventually work. On 11/29, we stopped to ask the concierge about a restaurant recommendation. We specifically and repeatedly told him that we were not interested in a formal restaurant due to our attire (sweat shirts, ball caps, blue jeans). However, the one and only restaurant that he sent us to was a very formal restaurant. We saw patrons with suits and ties and even a couple of parties dressed very formally. We went back and he again insisted that we go with his first referral. When we refused, he sent us to the casino restaurant and was visibly frustrated with us. He spoke poor, broken English at best. It was extremely difficult to understand anything that he said, much less directions in a city that we are only slightly familiar with. Overall, this hotel has declined and has declined to the point that as we make plans for our next visit- they are not going to be considered as a possible place to stay.

Dear Dan, We appreciate that you have continued to return to our property for your Pittsburgh visits. Your comments are very concerning to us, as it is not our intention for you to leave with such an impression. We are addressing your guest room condition with our housekeeping team. We certainly could have better communicated your dining options, and we will address this also with all involved. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do hope you will reconsider staying with us in the future.
