Convenient to Univ Of Pittsburgh
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Stairway was dirty, one hotel parking lot is closed so parking is limited
Location: Short walk to Carnegie Mellon Museums/Music Hall, and walkable to Phillips Conservatory. Many parents were staying there for Pitt and Mellon graduation
We were there four days for University of Pittsburgh Medical School, May 20. Many other parents for various graduations were there. We did not eat at the hotel so cant rate that.Hotel was quiet and had adequate lobby. Internet in room is not wireless, need a cord to connect.Enjoyed that we could walk to musuem and graduation at Carnegie Music Hall.

Pros: Very friendly staff.
Cons: Noise from outside (or inside)?
Location: PERFECT location for families of Pitt students.
The staff was very friendly. The room smelled so good upon our arrival and after it was cleaned. The parking instructions could have been explained to me by the person checking me in, and there was a noise that sounded like a loud truck on and off and for long periods of time throughout the first night and periodically the second night. Initially, I thought it was the AC, but I'm thinking it was actually loud trucks making deliveries.

The hotel was convenient to Pitt University.

Pros: location.
Cons: additional staff
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean when we got there. Housekeeping varied by the people who worked. Sometimes great and sometimes not so great. It was noticable as we were there a week. The lounge/bar didn't have enough people on duty as service varied. When empty great, but as soon as 3 or more groups arrived, service lacked. The rooms are more soundproof than in the past or we just had very quiet neighbors! Overall, we would stay there again.

Pros: Location
Cons: Include a breakfast buffet.
Location: University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon.
Great location for University visit. Expensive...no amenities like free breakfast buffet. No ala carte menu when we visited just the buffet or nothing. Even coffee to go was 2 dollars.

Newly operated Wyndham. Has a lot of potential. Hope they maximize the outdoor patio.

Old school service certainly fits the location.

Pros: 9th floor breakfast and meeting room
Cons: parking but then that's Oakland
Location: close to everything
Wyndham apparently has picked up where Holiday Inn left off. Ten times nicer on the inside than when you see it from a few blocks away. It was a great stay. Love the 9th floor.

OK for short business stay. Noisy A/C.

This is a good hotel for a short business stay. I've been here 3 times (twice before, during the old ownership and once, recently under the new). Few things I've noticed during my most recent visit: 1. Avoid room 215. It is located next to the ice machine which makes terrible noise. I was woken up early in the morning by people using it at 6am. (Who needs ice at 6am?!) 2. Hotel bar stops serving food at 10pm. If you arrive late, you need to walk out to have a dinner. (not a problem with plenty of restaurants in waling distance) 3. A/C unit in the room was terribly loud. It is a window mounted type and apparently very powerful and noisy. I woke up few times when it went off during the night.

Good location, average hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Misstated extra's
Location: Good
This hotel is a renovated Holiday Inn now under the Wyndam banner. The "nominal" parking fee was $20 per day. The hotel website claimed a refrigerator and micro wave in each room. There was neither. The room was a typical Holiday Inn sized room described best as sufficient. The hotel is in a great location if you are visiting any of the nearby sites. In our case St Paul's Cathedal. It is in a safe neighborhood with restaurants within walking distance. A major benefit is the free shuttle that will transport you around town in a three mile radius at your request. Jack, the driver, did a great job! This is a decent hotel with limited amenities. There are better values in Pittsburgh, but if this location suits you this hotel will do
