Pros: Nothing
Cons: It is only common decency that if you are not going to honor a reservation that you notify the customr.
Location: Location is great in heart of Pitt university
I arrived at the hotel around 1am, They told me the hotel was sold out and they moved me to another hotel. No email or phone call to let me know that my reservation would not be honored. I specifically booked this hotel because of location.

The biggest problem was that it was obvious that our bathroom was not cleaned even though we were checked in. The staff did clean it for us right away but it was gross

Newly renovated, great location in Downtown

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Very convenient location, clean and quiet.
Cons: Take out fresh brewed coffee was available for a fee in the restaurant -- I think it should have been free.
Location: Adjacent to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, convenient to Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh and other downtown sites.
The hotel was convenient, the lobby, hallways and room newly renovated. The HVAC system was quiet, the shower was hot and had plenty of water pressure. We didn't use the pool or eat at the restaurant. This is our second stay at the hotel and one thing we learned the first time is that to save the $20 per night parking fee you could park on the street adjacent to the hotel for free from 8pm until 8am. We parked under a street lamp to decrease the likelihood of vandalism, although I doubt that was necessary.

Not worth the price

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Convenience and location
Cons: Addition of a small refrigerator in the room.
Location: University of Pittsburgh campus is a nice place to explore. The location is close to museums, a beautiful park and lots of places to eat.
The hotel staff was helpful and pleasant. The location is convenient but the overall hotel was average and not worth $283/nt. Some other guests on our floor were loud and could be heard easily through the door coming and going until early morning. The room itself was fine although the bed was not very comfortable. Both my husband and I woke up with achy lower backs.

IT's a nice hotel. Only one problem. You have to take up the door handle to open door, not take it down like other hotels. In the beginning I tried many times and failed. After talking with hotel front dest representative, I knew how to open the door.

Disappointing Stay

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Cons: Give guests the room they originally booked. More attention to detail (i.e. don't leave pubic hairs in the shower)
I booked our room in January, roughly 6 months in advance of our trip. We came to Pittsburgh for the 4th of July weekend to explore the city and see two Pirates games. On Friday the 4th, we arrived in the city later than expected and had to check in after the game and fireworks. We called the hotel well in advance to notify them that we would not be able to check in until later in the evening. Upon checking in, we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and that the only option available was a room with a king, even though we originally booked a double. Usually not a problem when a couple travels together, but I was traveling with a friend and we did not want to sleep in the same bed, hence originally booking the double. So they comped us parking and brought in a roll-away bed, which was not ideal given that we had booked a double 6 months before. Overall, the room was adequate, minus the five giant pubic hairs on the floor of the shower... Long story short, I am going to avoid staying here in the future.

Convenient to Pitt

Posted Jun 23, 2014
The hotel is right on the Pitt campus, on the same block as the admissions office, so convenient for a college visit. The staff is willing and friendly. Room service breakfast was delivered on time and was decent. The facility itself is well maintained but dated. The HVAC in our room was very loud, and the thermostat did not work. Maintenance couldn't fix it, requiring us to use the wall unit controls and keep it on all night (it was 90 degrees outside the day we stayed). Not a great hotel, but the staff tries and it is an ideal location for visiting Pitt.

The hotel was 1/2 block away from where our daughter was graduating. Very clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable.

This hotel is an expensive joke!

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: semi clean
Cons: EVERYTHING!
Location: college
Well, To start we decided to do the mystery hotel. It said "downtown pittsburgh" its actually in oakland about 10 miles from downtown. We signed up for 2 adults and 2 children. when we arrived at the hotel we were put in a one bed room. There was no microwave or mini fridge. We had to pay an extra 25$ for them. Parking was an additional 20$ per night. The staff was very rude when asked why we werent put in a double bed room. They said they were completely packed from a wedding party. they did nothing about it. The pool was tiny and there was no hot tub. there is so laundry or complimentary breakfast. everything in the hotel costs extra. It was extremely overpriced for around 200 dollars a night. We have stayed in better hotels for less than half the price. So when leaving the hotel we were charged an additional 22$ for parking with a parking slip. so 42$ to park in a parking garage for one night. The staff was rude and could care less about your stay. I do not recoment this hotel nor will i ever go back. Thanks

Pros: Nothing much.
Stay there because it was close to college. But next time I will stay at down town which we usually do.
