Best location to University of Pittsburgh.Posted Apr 26, 2015
Been here four times and keep coming back. Wyndham has improved the hotel with upgrades over the past year, and I'll be back to drop off my son for the Fall semester. Recommended!

Great front desk staff, housekeeping needs imprvmtPosted Apr 14, 2015
This is the 2nd time I stayed at this hotel, first time when it was managed by Holiday Inn. This 2nd time I was curious to experience the new decor under new brand name. Both times were because of campus visit, this hotel is in the center of everything at Pitt. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly and even the shuttle driver was attentive. The cleaning crew seems tiring and unmotivated. At the beginning of my stay, the cleaning lady asked if I needed 'service'. Which I found it interesting, it was 6.00 pm in the evening, and the room was not clean, why would she need to ask? Then I realised that 'service' means emptying the trash cans, straightened the used towels. She left without even sweeping or vacuuming the floor. Next day, I told my daughter to make sure they vacuum the floor and she did. Of my 5 night stay at the hotel, this turned out to be the only time the floor was vacuumed because we could see hair on the bed and in the bathroom every evening when we returned. I am not a clean freak, but I feel like if I am staying at a hotel that charges over $150 a night should provide a better cleaning service.

Nice room very close to University of PittsburghPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Convenience to Univeristy of Pittsburgh and CMU. The rooms were comfortable, and clean.
Cons: Would be nice to have an opportunity to avoid going to a pharmacy if forget things like a razor.
Location: Easy to walk to University of Pittsburgh and CMU.
The room was nice, and the environment was quiet. My only issue was I had forgotten my razor, and they had run out of razors. Very close to University of Pittsburgh and CMU, and the hotel has convenient parking even though it is $20 per night.

Disappointing HotelPosted Apr 7, 2015
We found the hotel to be tired looking and generally blah. Even though we had stayed there under the previous chain we expected that more updates would have been done with the change.

Mediocre property, great location if visiting PittPosted Apr 5, 2015
I don't expect Four Seasons quality at a Wyndham, but more than a Best Western. This tired property feels more like the latter. No closet, cheap sundries, no luggage rack, tiny TV, etc. Marvelous location if you're visiting the university, otherwise forgettable.

Nice hotel, right on campusPosted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Clean, quite, good staff
Cons: Shower robes Jacuzzi/hot tub
Location: University of Pittsburgh campus. 10 minutes walk to CMU. Schenley heights charming historic neighborhood.
I have been going to this hotel for a couple of years now. It is a very good option for those seeking a central location right on campus without the student rush! The hotel is very nice, clean and has a welcoming feel to it. Staff has been very friendly with me every time. I once forgot an expensive ring and checked out. I came back a few hours later and asked for it, only to find out that one of the cleaning girls had found it and kept it safe until I came back. The building is new and modern, with plenty of events going on due to the nicer meeting and banquet rooms. However, you never feel that rush or crowd. The rooms are very clean and bathrooms are comfortable and well-kept. I wish they didn't get rid of the shower robes though!!! They have a nice indoors pool but no Jacuzzi/hot tub, which is a bummer! The restaurant in the first floor is also good. They have good food and reasonable hours. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the area for either one of the universities.

Motel 6 heaterPosted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Walking distance to event we were attending.
Cons: Fix thermostats
The thermostat on the wall was broken. There was a motel 6 type heater in the window that either blew hot air or was off. The room was either freezing or too hot.

Good not greatPosted Mar 10, 2015
Not the best in Pittsburgh but good. Charging for parking is a little sleazy. Staff was great. Rooms were fine.
