We had booked a classic vista room and were upgraded free to a one-bedroom villa steps away from the infinity pool and the beach. The accommodations were excellent, the staff was extremely friendly and the food was great. We had several options for outside excursions, but we opted to stay mostly at the resort and relax. It would be a place that we would feel comfortable recommending to friends and family.
The only negative, if I had to say one, would be that a couple of the buildings (probably original older buildings) could use some TLC on the exterior. The interior rooms were fine, but the outside could use a little scrubbing and a coat of paint. The thatched roofs look as though they are getting close to needing to be replaced.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Placencia. It seems to be a sleepy, quite village with not a lot of cars traveling up and down the roads. We were really impressed with the quietness of the resort itself as well.

Arrived after a marathon red-eye flight, and the long speed bump infested drive to a very clean, albeit spartan, room. Alas, it's late and the A/C doesn't work! The manager, a VERY nice, helpful man said he would try to get it fixed the next day. But remember, this is--Belize! Amazing man, he got it fixed! The hotel location is on the outskirts
of town, allowing easy walking to eateries, stores, what have you. But it is far enough out of the main area to be quiet at night. It is also only 500 yards from the white Caribbean sandy beach. The times we were down there we could see a mile of white sandy beach--and we were the only ones on it. Amazing place. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
