Easy access to downtown Placerville

Pros: It was nice to be able to take a 5-10 minute walk to downtown and eat at the many good restaurants there.
Location: Cascada, a high end Mexican restaurant, was excellent. It was nice checking out the small local museum to get a flavor of the history of the area.
Very attractive B+B with a welcoming hostess. NIce breakfast.

Cleanliness of room was very good. The mattress was soft but comfortable. The traffic outside you can hear but earplugs are available and the soft music was very tranquil. Located in a very busy intersection. The breakfast was delicious, healthy and adequate. Quality of service was superb.

Charming hotel, with walk to downtown

Posted Jul 15, 2013
We went to gold country for the weekend, and decided to stay at Albert Shafsky House due to its convenient location. We were very happy with the place. The room was spacious (we had our own lounge area), clean and charming, and the owners were really friendly - it really felt like we were welcome guests. The breakfast was great, and they accommodated my vegetarianism and my girlfriend's gluten free diet happily. The hotel was only 5 minutes walk to downtown Placeville, so going out for a drink and/or a meal in the evening was super convenient. If we go to gold country again, we'll definitely be staying at the same place!

This was our first stay at a B&B and we were treated to hospitality and a delicious breakfast. Our room was comfortable and the house was charming. I like that you can view the rooms and pick the one you want online. Our hostess was very hospitable and made us feel welcome and at home. The stay met our expectations. I would recommend the Albert Shafsky House to anyone staying in the Placerville area.
