“Good, Clean Lodging”

This was our first stay at the National 9 Inn in Placerville. We were looking for a one night stay on our trip to San Francisco, so that we could visit Apple Hill. We were surprised by how expensive the other lodging competitors were! The room was clean and acceptable. The staff were very friendly and the price was right. For a clean room at a great price, this is a good choice. We would stay here again.

“Not impressed”

The room lacked basic amenities: hairdryer, trashcan in bathroom, shampoo. There was only 1 bar of soap for both sink and tub. I booked the room for 2 guests but had to ask for a second washcloth. The ceiling light had no cover over the bulbs. The furnishings needed to be freshened up. The bathroom sink was very small with no counter to put toiletries on. On the positive, the woman who checked us in was very nice and accommodating; but the room itself was very basic considering the cost. Not only would I not stay at this property again, I would probably never stay in a National 9 motel in the future.

“You'll be pleasantly surprised”

I know, the hotel from the outside looks its age- but when you get to the room you see the care and love someone has put into making this place very nice. Clean, updated, comfortable bed. The concierge was sweet and personable. She lowered our rate because it was midweek and I thought it was low before! I really appreciated the quality of our stay. Only one suggestion, the continental breakfast needs one or two more things to be okay with me.

It's not the Ritz. A bit basic, but everything you need. Clean & quiet. The bed was very good.

“Placerville sleepover”

National 9 in Placerville, CA is a okay/fair accommodation for a hotel. Bare minimum of a room with older "rustic" tone. We just needed a room for the night and this worked for us. I had an idea of what to expect, i.e. nothing special, and that what it was. Room features thin walls, small tv, MINI coffee-maker/ fridge, 60's ac/heating unit in window. Bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep, which was all we needed for the night. Management was very nice and friendly. If your traveling Hwy 50 and just need a place to crash for a night it's ok, just don't expect more. If you have kids & want a pool(a must in summer) or want a more standard property I'd look west toward Cameron Park or other locations along Hwy 50. Overall the room served our needs for a quick nights stay, I just wouldn't have to great expectations.

“Clean room, friendly staff”

The room for the price was pretty nice, it was clean and well maintained. The Front Desk Clerk was friendly had a nice smile. He showed genuine concern for me with the location of the room. I would stay here again.

“just what I was looking for”

Good place to stay. Nothing fancy, only nice clean and quiet rooms at a really good price. Wi-Fi was nice to have too. No frills which I don't need to pay for as I'm not interested in them anyway. Exactly what I was looking for.

“Great place, excellent price”

The staff were very friendly, eager to answer all questions. Very clean room that came with a refrig, microwave, coffeemaker-more than other motels at an even higher price. Would definitely stay again. Close to most things in Placerville and quiet for sleeping.

“Perfect motel for the night”

Great place to crash for the night before heading to the slopes. Extremely helpful staff, clean rooms, good beds, generous space. Perfect. And loot at the price!
