"Deceiving Facade on a Good Hotel"
We were ready for an unimpressive hotel front due to the TripAdvisor review, and likewise we were pleased with the clean and spacious room and the convenient location for the major central-Madrid attractions. We were walking distance from many and a Metro stop was 100 meters from the hotel door.

"birthday surprize"
I took my partner for a 50th birthday surprize where we met up with friends who also booked in at the hotel. Well located, well appointed and no complaints. The staff were efficient but not engaging although they nearly all spoke good english. Food, especially breakfast was excellent albeit a bit pricey, add on 20 euros each per day for breakfast. I did e-mail the hotel direct regarding the special birthday as they appeared to have a deal for that sort of thing, but nothing appeared on the day, so I just let it go. All in all a great break, despite the soring temperatures, would reccomend both Madrid and the hotel to others.

"Madrid short break "
Hotel is close to main sights. Rather soulless hotel, more three stars than four. Clean and tidy in all areas although there is only a small seating area in reception and no bar open to relax in after a day sight seeing. Fine for a short stay .... a sort of old fashioned premier inn really just somewhere to sleep

"Cheap prices with full kitchen."
The entrance of this place was hard to find and looked a bit sketchy. It looks just like a regular apartment and nothing about it seemed like a hotel. We got a lot more than we expected. In the room there are two beds. A double bed and a single. There is a microwave, oven, stove, fridge, and all the bowls plates, utensils are all there ready to be used. There's also a washing machine. The rooms are clean and very spacey. I was very comfortable and the staffs were very helpful. They gave me all the necessary information and went out of their way to help me with luggage.

"Good hotel for price"
We have group of 7 people. Booked the largest apartment at Woo Homtel de Oriente. 5 of us stayed there. The room was very clean. For 5 people, that's spacious apartment for hotel. All the appliance work - dish washer / washing machine / refrigerator / range and oven. All the dishes / utensils were clean. Great when you have family with kids that needs a lot of washing. We had a room with queen size bed. There were 2 bunk beds for 4 people. There were actually a sofa that pulls out to be a queen size bed - which we didn't need to use. Cleaning is once every 5 days - so don't expect the room to be clean daily. That's fine with us as we were all adults. The hot water heater was small. We had to plan our showers strategically. Location is great - walking distance to Mercado Miguel (really expensive) and Plaza Mayor (more reasonable price restaurant). Right across the street from Royal Palace. There are two metro within 10 minutes of leisure walk from the hotel - Metro Plaza Espanza and Principio. If you are going out, turn right to catch metro at the Principio metro station as it's a easy 10 minutes walk downhill. If you are coming back to the hotel, stop at the Metro Plaza Espenza as it's a easy 10 minutes downhill walk. It's about 10 minutes walk to the Gran Via.

Pocket Guide: Plaza de Espana - Princesa, Madrid Casino Hotels

At the western end of the arterial Gran Via, Plaza de España is home to Franco-era architecture like the monstrous red and white Edificio España. The nearby Palacio Real (royal palace) was rebuilt in 1764 and is still used for state functions. It contains some wonderfully ornate rooms and is free on Wednesdays to EU citizens (take your passport). Admire the statues in the lovely Sabatini Gardens afterwards.
