Even though hotel is near a busy road we heard no traffic noise in hotel. So central it is within easy walking distance of some principal tourist sites such as the Palacio Real and Plaza Major, lovely parks and a short city bus ride to superb museums and galleries. The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and spacious but sparsely decorated rooms. Excellent location in central Madrid. Roof deck bar with beautiful views of the Royal Palace. The bar itself wasn't actually opened when we were there but we were free to bring a bottle of wine to the roof top and enjoy the view.

Great staff-Juan was extremely helpful and made it a great experience for us by recommending things to do and see while in Madrid. Close to a lot of things to do and see-very safe area. Rooms were pretty big, and very clean with updated bathroom and a comfy comforter on the bed.

Great central location with an easy tube journey. Short walk to malasena with great bars and restaurants.
Hotel staff were nice and let us check out an hour late.
The hotel room had a comfortable bed.
Unfortunately on the downside I arrived at 12.50 and was told check in was 2pm not 1pm as Expedia advised. Then when I came back after leaving my luggage at 5 I was told one of the two rooms was not ready due to a technical issue.
They did find me 2 rooms but I wasn't happy to be told this after arriving before check-in. When we checked into the room one of them had no toiletries, the safe had no key and the rooms don't have any tea/coffee facilities.
The main problem was that both rooms on two different floors smelled of drainage. The smell wasn't unbearable and we were out most of the time so we didn't complain but if you were planning to be in in the evenings I'd be wary.

Location is perfect for the sights and close to 2 metros. Good restaurants nearby and on the same block as the police station. Very safe for walking. There are 2 exe hotels and this is the 3 star suite hotel that is a half block from the 4 star hotel. Not much of a suite hotel as you had to request any dishes or cooking materials and the refrigerator is not even hooked up. Also breakfast is at the other hotel only. Naomi did wonders handling all our problems. Beds were comfortable and the room seemed clean but in need of a redo.

At the western end of the arterial Gran Via, Plaza de España is home to Franco-era architecture like the monstrous red and white Edificio España. The nearby Palacio Real (royal palace) was rebuilt in 1764 and is still used for state functions. It contains some wonderfully ornate rooms and is free on Wednesdays to EU citizens (take your passport). Admire the statues in the lovely Sabatini Gardens afterwards.
