"Good value hotel close to Plymouth"
Easy reach of the city, coastal areas and Dartmoor. Ask for a room without any room above for most peaceful stay. Dinner serves from 6.30. Other budget priced eatery close by.

"Lovely!!!"
Lovely country hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful and a credit to the team there. We only stayed one night (unfortunately) but everyone was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was an easy experience although we were left to fend for ourselves a bit as we didnt want cereal, yoghurt, fruit etc and just wanted a cooked breakfast with tea and toast! Once we found a waitress it was a superb breakfast. The room was lovely and clean and overlooked the golf course - beautiful view - and the ensuite shower room was clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely go there again when we are in the area

"Nice bed and breakfast"
We chose the first because they were one of the few we could find in Plymouth that allowed us to bring our dog. The room was large and though it said it was a double it was actually had a double and a single which meant we had quite a bit of room. The bed was comfortable and warm and the breakfast in the morning had lots of options. Checking in and out was very easy and parking was available on the street outside overnight.

"A very enjoyable stay."
My wife and I paid for a room to stay in one night for our first anniversary. The staff were very kind and helpful and could not do enough for us. There were plenty of toiletries available for us to use and the room had practically everything we needed. I would point out though that this is *NOT* a hotel. Our room was one of three (I think) located above a pub. Whereas my wife and I were lucky (we were there to celebrate) it's worth saying that being a pub there was a fair amount of noise up to closing time. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to stay, this isn't it. The parking was adequate for us. We were lucky enough to have a parking space immediately outside the building but I could see that had the nearby pubs / shops been busier, we might have had problems. If you're lucky enough to know the area (I was born and grew up in Plymouth) you might have some luck but as it was, we didn't need it. There are frequent and regular buses to and from the city centre, stopping literally a couple of minutes from the pub. Very helpful for us as the walk would have taken us about half an hour. it's also worth saying that our room did not have its own toilet / shower. There was a toilet and a separate shower across the hall from our room but these were communal. Not the biggest problem in the world but again, worth mentioning. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

"A rare Diamond"
A beautiful and stunningly decorated grand house throughout. The location is perfect as it overlooks the Estuary and looks onto rolling green fields with woods all around. Fantastic views. Our suite was large and spotlessley clean with tea/coffee and biscuits replenished every morning, The underfloor heating in the large bathroom was very welcome. Bedlinen and towels etc always replaced with fresh. Great breakfast also in a beautiful room Stephen our host was the perfect caring gentleman always ready to help. My wife and I will certainly be staying again in the future. The best "B+B" i have ever stayed at by a mile.

Pocket Guide: Plymouth, Devon Pet-friendly Hotels

The principal town of the south west, Plymouth is famous for its maritime legacy. The Hoe, where Drake awaited the Armada, overlooks the magnificent harbour (Sound): home to naval dockyards and warships, accessible on sightseeing cruises. The bustling atmospheric Barbican district by the inner harbour, with its narrow streets of Tudor and Jacobean buildings, is where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from. Visit the Elizabethan House and the Plymouth Gin Distillery, as well as the National Marine Aquarium - one of England’s finest.
