Some parts are nicer than others

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The hotel is in a very nice area and have plenty of activities nearby. The outside pool and deck bar were nice as well.
Cons: The older rooms must be updated!!
Location: We vistited Camelbeach, C2K, outlet shopping.
At first we were given a room that looked like it came out of the 70's. The furniture was very old (handles were fallen off the dressers) and there was a chair that had a giant hole in it as if an animal ate through it. I called the front desk immediately and told them I was not staying there and I had found another hotel I can go to. The front desk manager was very helpful and quick in finding us another room in the main part of the hotel. The second room we were given was exactly as shown in the pictures, much nicer and updated. If you stay here request to stay in the main section of the hotel.

Terrible hotel

The room was clean but the water in the sink leaked. The staff doesn't laugh or smile and ignored us.

Picturesque 100 year old hotel.

Pros: many services (golf, horse riding, off-road rides, etc) available at reasonable price.
Cons: The roads leading to the hotel was in sad shape and your bounced your way up the road. Parking was a challenge. Maid service seemed short staffed.
Location: Many outdoor activities in the area. Local food vendors were limited and weak at the middle price range.
Picturesque 100 year old hotel. Our room was not accessible by elevators which meant we had to carry all the bags up and down stair ways to the room.

Spruce Lodge nowhere near as nice as main building

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: The setting, the friendliness of the staff, the nature walks that are available, the pools, the elegance of the inn.
Cons: Computers at check-in seem to be slow. It is a big place and front desk gets really backed up ya times. Better check-in - more staff? Faster computer
Location: Location in Poconos is lovely, serene. Apparently casino and restaurants close by and available by shuttle.
Our room at The Spruce Lodge at the Inn at Pocono Manor was adequate and average. It was a disappointment as we had recentlstayed in the main building of the inn, which was much more special and even elegant. The overall facilities are nice, including a nice outdoor pool with grill, and the setting is lovely. I would go back, but would request a room in the inn itself.

Center of poconos

The experience was nice. I just wished the the indoor pool would be more clean. The bathrooms for the indoor pool were in very poor conditions. They need someone to clean often. The floor of the pool always looked like it needed cleaning also.

Off the beaten path

Okay, so I've definitely stayed in more modern hotels, but those hotels didn't have a firepit, horse stables, golf course, shooting ranges, etc, etc. There is so much to this place, you see how it's hard for them to keep up with everything (e.g. the water stains in our room's ceiling), still if you can overlook the outdated carpet and the funky smell in the closet, you can have a great time playing ping pong, etc, etc, and enjoy yourself.

Pros: It was convenient to some of the site seeing activities that we had planned
Cons: You have 2 restaurants on site, room service would have been nice. A person who actually cleans your room DAILY would be nice.
The room was so tiny! The pictures on their website are very deceiving. The bathroom was so small we had to lay our toiletries out on the window sill. I booked 3 rooms over 2 months ago, all 3 rooms were suppose to be on the same floor away from the elevator. Upon arrival all 3 rooms were on SEPERATE floors and 2 rooms were next to the elevator. I was told they couldn't accommodate my request because it was a busy weekend. I should have been told this prior to driving 12 hours to get there. I also requested and paid for refrigerators to be in each room, upon arrival no rooms had them. Two of the couples in the other rooms said nothing but I did ask for one to be placed in my room which they did within 30 minutes, the refrigerator was placed under our desk (now making the desk unusable). The person assigned to clean our room daily, basically made the bed and changed the towels, trash and any food containers were not throw out (they were still there the day we checked out), four days of trash adds up quickly. I was going to fill out the comment card left on the desk but when I went to do this it had already been filled out by a previous customer that had stayed in the same room a few days earlier (I guess they didn't want the feedback)
