Big let down

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel was the location to the high
The rooms are very outdated and not what the pictures show. I booked this hotel for my parents and wanted them to have a nice experience here in the Poconos as this was there first time up here. The spa could not be found and the coffee shop was never open. The TV in there bedroom was an old 19" box TV from the early 70's.

I would never go to that hotel again, too Old, the two only elevators did not work Someone came into my room when I was sleeping at 11pm when I open my eyes the lady from the room next door was in my room, I told her to get out. Did not know the lady. Not safe.

The hotel is cozy, clean and quiet.

Pros: same as my first answer.
Cons: Breakfast is provided in the hallway. A room for the purpose would be nice.
Location: There is a lot to do in the sorroundings.
Satisfying experience with both, service and people at the hotel.

Mt Laurel

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Free breakfast in the morning. Activities room attendant was very nice and helpful.
I picked this Hotel because I had stayed before with a friend that owns a timeshare here. I know the property. I knew that the room would accommodate 6 of us. I recently had knee surgery and was looking forwards to sitting in the hot tub . I was told that since I was not a timeshare owner that I could not use the hot tub. I was not told this when I checked in ( and I had told the clerk that I was looking forwards to it) and I was not told this when I went into the Spa on saturday and asked the hours. I was not told until I was in my bathingsuit and ready to get into the hot tub. The girl did not apologize or any inconvenience or nothing. The website says nothing about this. It also says nothing about the game room being closed till further notice. This was another selling point for staying there. The place has become run down and is falling apart. The roof above the door outside was falling down above our heads and I was concerned it would fall on our heads. The parking lot was beat up and garbage was everywhere. The girl in the pool sat and played with her phone instead of cleaning up dirty towels which were everywhere. Toilets kept running and threatened to overflow.

Old hotel in declining shape

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Place isn't wheelchair accessible to accommodate me. I was not happy for how much I paid for am old, run down place to stay. It is only a $49 place to sleep. It is small cramped, uncomfortable, and I couldn't get into the shower there. Very upsetting and disappointing.

The hotel was great. Staff was extremely helpful! Although expedia states you do not have to call to confirm your reservation I would highly recommend you do so. When I arrived they did not have my reservation and it took a while to check in. Breakfast at this hotel is not good. Pool, game room, bar etc. were all amazing...

pros and cons..... mostly pros!

Positive: The Mountain Laurel Resort was a nice stay, especially for the price! Very affordable on Hotels . com, in a great location by Wawa and a variety of fast food places. No one bothered us. Guest services and house keeping were good.Room was clean, huge swimming pool, activities for everyone, really big work out room with many machines, a spa, a sauna, a bar, billiards, and plenty of places to lounge around and just look out the windows at the scenery. Hotel is only a few miles from JF and BB mountains. Negatives: No mini fridge, microwave, or hair dryer in the room. (BUT- I think you could get the hair dryer from the front desk.) And all though the lady was friendly and did her job well, I find it very bizarre that a hotel, in America, that welcomes many ethnicities, would allow a woman to wear an old denim jacket with a swastik a and ss N a z i patch on it.

After a long day for an unexpected trip, the room served it needs. While the room was clean, it was a bit dated. By no means is this a 4 star hotel, more like a 2 star, but given it's location in the poconos it's decor matched the local scenery. I would definitely stay here again, given the alternatives for the area.....
