Pros: The remodeled handicap room and the indoor pool
Cons: The halls are dark and depressing
We were in the area visiting family in the hospital and the Hotel was conveniently located. Handicap room was recently remodeled and was very clean and comfortable. Halls are dark and need to be updated, but the lobby, breakfast room and the handicap room were certainly nicer than I had expected they would be.

At first it was very hard finding the lobby. Then it was difficult finding our room. We went up and down 2 sets of stairs with luggage before we found it. Clearer directions from the front staff would have helped

The Howard Johnson's motel on Rtoue 37 East has seen better days. Lots of items needed repair. The wood was coming off the bottom of the bathroom door. The light fixtures were old and out- dated. The property is now being rented weekly and monthly for "better rates." The complementary breakfast consisted of: Cold Cheerios and Cornflakes cereal. Small tasteless muffins; oranges and apples, waffles and juice that tasted like "Tang." A definite disappointment!

Pros: Price and location, clean room.
Location: Like I said earlier, the location was perfect for me.
The location worked perfectly for me on this trip, I'll stay there on my next visit to Toms River. The staff was helpful and very nice folks. The Breakfast bill of faire just right for me. I know they just remodeled the rooms, as this hotel has been there for years. They did a good job on the rooms. Next visit I'll ask for a room that doesn't face Hooper Ave (a busy road and you can hear the cars & trucks).

Not worth the money we paid

I will never stay at this hotel again. Way over priced! Needs a major update! Could be cleaner and more cominterys.

Ordered double room double bed got one room w 2 beds nothing great about it drab colors I guess better than the boardwalk

Pleasantly surprised

I was nervous about the hotel after I read all the reviews, but it was really nice! A little outdated but clean. The room was big with a patio over looking the pool. The staff was nice. It was a great stay!

Two night stay

Cons: Major facelift and renovation required
Location: Close to Seaside Heights, restaurants and shops
We needed a pet friendly hotel, and this was the only one in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful, however the hotel room was in dire need of renovation. Very old, carpets in rooms and corridors, ceiling in bathroom "puffy" and the place just needs a major facelift. $126/night is not acceptable for this kind of room (That's excludiong the $50/night pet fee)
