Right in the downtown of Port AngelesPosted Feb 3, 2015
I wish hotels had a choice of a firm mattresses. The usual soft spring mattress is not my favorite!

Convenient location on water.Posted Jan 28, 2015
Pros: The food in the dining room was excellent for dinner and the breakfast that came with the room was great.
Location: Went on business so did not do anything.
Generally good, clean hotel. Somewhat dated but has been recently refurbished.

heating in room unsatisfactory.Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Otherwise ok
Cons: buffet breakfast and heating system
Breakfast buffet was awful! Eggs meally, Bacon soggy and not crisp, potatos soggy. Peanut butter and muffins good!

Cleanliness wasn't next to the waterPosted Jan 8, 2015
Room looked pleasing until you looked closer, was leftover pretzels and trash beneath both beds, and cigarette butts and trash left on outside deck, first level waterfront view came with a walking path quite close to the deck, and the lovely view of the morning dog walkers and there pets using the hotels grass as a bathroom, my advise make sure and get a 2nd floor room if booking a room with a water view, and have the freedom to leave the shades open without others peering in.

Great to explore Port Angeles...or spend a night..Posted Dec 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
We spent one night - to make the morning ferry to Victoria. The room was clean if a little dated. Everything worked OK. Check in was quick and friendly, and front desk person knew the area well and answered all my questions about local stuff. Parking was good, the area was well lit so my felt safe. A nice looking pool and spa tub but we did not use these. We arrived late after a long and somewhat terrifying drive up the 101. So we whimped out and ate at the attached restaurant - The CrabShack. The service was EXCELLENT...it was Dec 23 and there was a large party in an attached dining room but you'd never know it. Our waitress brought perfectly made Martini's and recommended a nice wine. The food was just OK. We had the prime rib...it arrived over cooked (we like medium rare, this was medium if not a bit medium-well). Overall a 3.5-4 / 5. We would stay again - absolutely. Probably skip the CrabShack...although not due to service.

Always love staying at the Red Lion in Port Angeles. The recent update is nicely done, the staff helpful, and the plethora of great coffee shops nearby a big bonus. The nametags with different "Ask me about . . ." on them was genius.

Comfortable and CleanPosted Dec 18, 2014
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, and spacious. The most important is bed comfort and pillows...and that gets a 10! The only negative was we had to go to the office twice over our 2 days there to get our cards reactivated! That was annoying! Buy a better machine. We recommend the Cod fish & chips at their restaurant. Pricey food but really good!
