Great value nice place for the money

Mid way between Venice and fort Myers. 35 minutes to Boca Grande which is one of the nicest beaches in Florida, well the $6.00 toll bridge. This is the nicest hotel between the two cities. Once again Good Value...

Nice water front location.

This hotel is still in the process of a renovation. I didn't hear any noise however during the day the elevator would be shared with workers hauling debris out to their dumpster. My room was nice, but had a slight musty odor. Upon packing for departure I figured out why. The air conditioning unit must have been installed with the wrong pitch as the floor in front of it was completely soaked.

Good location bad accommodations

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Beautiful location, nice views within walking distance to shops and restaurants. That's the only good parts of my stay. Hotel is run down, dirty, room smells of mold and mildew. Needs some serious updating.

Perfect location!

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Location!!!!!
Cons: More lighting in room. Softer pillows. Number of towels should match number of guests.
Location: Fantastic little surprise concert one night! Can walk to anything in P G. Easy drive to nearby shopping & restaurants. Loved being right on water!
Stayed 4 nights in 2nd floor waterside room. Location can't be beat. Sunset views, sounds of lapping waves, quiet, proximity to walking trails around the town, park & waterside---perfect. But room was very dark--needed one more lamp. 3 people in our room but we were given enough towels for 2, even though we had to ask for more every day. Air conditioner was intermittent, very loud, and we couldn't control it. Sometimes it was too cold at night. Breakfast offerings mediocre. One day there was no cream for coffee and only plain yogurt. Next day only blueberry yogurt. Nice to have 24 hour coffee. Pillows very uncomfortable. Desk staff were all very nice & helpful. Even though there is room for improvement we would stay there again, mainly because of the perfect location! Could have been a bit cleaner.

Disappointing Birthday weekend

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Walkable location to shops/restaurants/park
Cons: Room 243 should not be charged as a water front/view. Customers should be aware that the nightly music is much worse on the pool side.
Location: Beautiful river front park and harbor walk right out the door. Easy walk to Fisherman's Village (touristy but fun nonetheless).
Every year I book a weekend getaway to enjoy another year. I choose to do this as close to my birthday as possible. My trips very from exotic to an in state town/hotel. This year I choose to stay at the Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel and Suites. I choose a waterfront room (upgrade) so that I could relax and enjoy the scenery. What a waste of money. The room I was assigned was in no way water view (it was a view of the top of a palm tree and a corner of a pool. If you went out on the balcony and stretched around the corner you could see the river. Also the location of this room was facing a loud tiki bar that had live music both nights. When I complained the staff said that they were full and I would have to discuss the rate difference between a pool view and a river view with Expedia since I pre-paid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice enough hotel.

Nice room and staff. They need to overhaul the elevator. It was shabby and torn up, as was the entry way outside the elevator. The only problem with my room was the vertical blinds didn't close all the way and lights from the parking lot and sunrise made it hard to sleep.

Location: Within walking distance to downtown restaurants. very important to us as we like out wine with dinner.
They have done a very nice job remodeling this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. Had stayed here several years ago, and it is so much nicer. Good deal
