Disappointing Birthday weekend

Posted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Walkable location to shops/restaurants/park
Cons: Room 243 should not be charged as a water front/view. Customers should be aware that the nightly music is much worse on the pool side.
Location: Beautiful river front park and harbor walk right out the door. Easy walk to Fisherman's Village (touristy but fun nonetheless).
Every year I book a weekend getaway to enjoy another year. I choose to do this as close to my birthday as possible. My trips very from exotic to an in state town/hotel. This year I choose to stay at the Punta Gorda Waterfront Hotel and Suites. I choose a waterfront room (upgrade) so that I could relax and enjoy the scenery. What a waste of money. The room I was assigned was in no way water view (it was a view of the top of a palm tree and a corner of a pool. If you went out on the balcony and stretched around the corner you could see the river. Also the location of this room was facing a loud tiki bar that had live music both nights. When I complained the staff said that they were full and I would have to discuss the rate difference between a pool view and a river view with Expedia since I pre-paid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice enough hotel.

Nice room and staff. They need to overhaul the elevator. It was shabby and torn up, as was the entry way outside the elevator. The only problem with my room was the vertical blinds didn't close all the way and lights from the parking lot and sunrise made it hard to sleep.

Location: Within walking distance to downtown restaurants. very important to us as we like out wine with dinner.
They have done a very nice job remodeling this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. Had stayed here several years ago, and it is so much nicer. Good deal

Nice hotel in great location

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: WiFi service was spotty for a day.
We had a large room with a large window overlooking the water. Nicely furnished and clean. The area around the hotel is a large park with nice walking/biking paths and all kinds of activities. We will definitely be back next year, hopefully for a longer stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Don't miss the restaurant Hurricane Charley's Raw Bar and Grill.

large room and great service

Pros: The location
Cons: Although being refurbished, some things should have been replaced rather than painting over them, such as the bathroom door
Location: Many great restaurants, parks, shopping and right on the ocean
We stayed here after finding this hotel on expedia. The room was large and very comfortable, so much that we booked another night directly from the front desk for more or less the same price. We would stay here again, nice views, an attached very fun restaurant and a nice adjacent park. I would recommend this hotel. It is as the names states right on the waterfront!

Not close to the beach. No coffee, no breakfast.

This was a rip off. There was nothing in the way of amenities such as food or coffee included.

We were there for our annual Rays Spring Training Game! Hotel is in a great location. Can walk downtown for dinner or stay there and visit Hurricane Charlies which was a fun place to eat and drink.
