Pros: See above
Cons: OK for us as it is
Location: See above
Three days in Port Douglas flew by, we were never far from the cafes and sights that we chose and found a quiet, clean and unit just what we needed for a short stay.

Good location, close to everything

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: peaceful and welcoming
Cons: More car parks as we had to leave our car out on the street every night.
Location: shops are only a short walking distance,
Enjoyed it a lot. As we were there for a wedding, it was very beautiful and welcoming.

Handy to Everything

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: The rooms with their own balcony and the lay out. Easy to find way around. Also great for families
Location: Port Douglas is fantastic. had a snorkel at Great Barrier Reef. Went to crocodile park and just relaxed at the beach. Fantastic Holiday
Stayed for a week and was a home away from home. Had every comfort we needed. And had a choice of two swimming pools. We used the shared BBQ facilities a couple of times with friends, well provided for. And the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Bay Villas was within walking distance to the beach, marina and shops. Ideal really.

Clean apartment 5 min walk beach or main street

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Clean and convenient location with good parking. 2 nice pools with good BBQ facilities.
Cons: The bed was very hard and needed a softer top layer
Location: Good location within walking distance to all Port Douglas attractions. Drive or tour to Daintree forest, Mossman Gorge tablelands, Kuranda and Cairns
Welcomed on arrival and staff helpful booking reef trip. Apartment was well fitted out and clean. Resort layout was good with most balconies overlooking a pool and either getting morning or afternoon sun.

Relaxed apartment near the beach and close to town

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff; good sized balcony; good sized apartment; close to the beach and the town; plenty of ceiling fans as well as an AC unit.
Cons: Cleanliness of the rooms (I thought they would be cleaned, even rudimentally).
Location: Beach is 5 minutes walk, town is 10 minutes. We went for a half day trip to the Daintree rainforest, for which we were picked up from our apartment.
We stayed 5 nights and after a mild panic about not having organised an after hours booking were happy to learn that they had catered for this and left us a key already. 5 minute walk to the beach (the quiet part) and a 10 minute walk into town, so ideally located. Our apartment was one surrounding a central pool, with a reasonable sized balcony that caught the sunset in the evening. Not the most private residence as you are pretty close to everyone else and the pool is RIGHT there so the noise can be a little rigorous at times. But then that's what happens on holiday, so no real dramas. The staff were extremely helpful, making us feel at home and always offering ideas about things to do. They were very knowledgeable and were hard to fault. The only problem was the apartments weren't serviced, or at least they weren't as much as I had expected. Perhaps I didn't read the fine print. Either way, a minor quibble on what was ultimately a very rewarding stay. I would recommend.

Pros: Close to town & beach. Well appointed. Friendly staff.
Cons: Couch and chairs could be more comfortable.
Location: Close to town. Beach, watersports - diving - fishing - sailing, restaurants, shopping.
Nicely appointed room, king bed, A/C and balcony overlooking pool. Quiet surrounds. Within easy walking distance to town and beach. Very relaxed stay - would recommend to couples and older guests. Very accommodating staff.

short walk to the beach

Posted Aug 9, 2014
We were given an apartment (21b) that faced out onto Davidson street a main traffic thoroughfare. . Traffic slowed down from about 6pm and restarted again at 6.30am but we could hear traffic during the night. Not conducive to a relaxing holiday.. We asked to shift to a quieter apartment the next morning. They gave us a much quieter apartment which was great. We had to pay $40 for change of linen etc and paid cash.. I did ask for a receipt on two occasions but was told they were unable to trace the payment. However eventually I was given a receipt for "linen charges for change of apartment". No where on the receipt form does it mention Bay Villas Resort!!!
