Great price, great location.Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Great price, great condition, great location.
Cons: Can't think of anything to be improved.
Location: Choice of 2 pools onsite, beach short walk away, as is the main shopping and restaurant area. Lovely & quiet yet close enough to the action.
I thoroughly enjoyed my staff at Bay Villa Resort. I booked last minute and still got a great price and great room. It was spotless, fresh, in top condition and so nice to be welcomed into. The reception staff were so friendly. I was travelling alone and felt very welcomed and safe. The location is perfect, a short leisurely walk into Macrossan St for all the lovely shops, restaurants and supermarket supplies as you might want. I did a mix of eating out and eating in, which suited me perfectly. Waking up surrounded by palm trees was something I could definitely get used to.

Small but comfortable self cateringPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Good position. Quiet. Balcony overlookin pool and garden.
Location: Drive to rainforest. Walk to town centre, shops and restaurants. No need to use your car to explore Port Douglas.
Everything you need for a short stay. Less than 10 minutes walk to town centre. Comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again to explore the area.

Nice hotel with poolPosted Jul 16, 2014
My partner and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. We had a studio apartment which was good as we used the kitchen for making breakfast each morning. The room was comfortable and we loved the balcony. The hotel was 10 minute walk away from Port Douglas centre and it had 2 nice pools and BBQ areas. The only downside was that the rooms are only cleaned every 6 days and therefore during our 4 night stay our room wasn't cleaned and we weren't provided with clean towels. There was a notice saying that towels could be provided for 'a small fee' but I don't think that a hotel should be charging to give you clean towels! Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay and the staff gave us a warm welcome.

I was able to even cook an evening meal;loved having the balcony;likewise space in my studio was just right with nice ventilation for using fan instead of a/c;location was great for walk to beach and downtown. Excellent value plus staff very helpful/was even able to see what 1 bedrm and 2 bedrm looked like with great design of space/I will tell friends of this wonderful find.

friendly staff. Really tidy and functional rooms.Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: friendly staff. Free washing and drying.
Cons: The spa bath water was too cool.
Location: Stay in Cairns. Nothing to do in Port Douglas. We had day trip to Daintree National Park and found nothing to see. No beautiful views. Boring.
Port Douglas is an expensive, posh place with not much to do. Better to stay in Cairns, where everything is cheaper and there is MUCH more to do. We stayed 5 nights in PD and found ourselves driving near Cairns everyday for the fun, free, natural sight seeing activities. PD is an overnight stay at best.

Great staying ,poor internetPosted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Everything was really good, The only thing to complain about was the company that delivered internet. JIMOJO One evening it didn't work at all and several days it was sooooo sloooow. It took half a minute per site to download.
