“Affordable Comfort”

Latitude 16 Coral Apartments has all the comforts of home. The apartment we stayed in was spacious with a living room, kitchenette with all appliances, bedroom and bathroom with washer and dryer. Our room was on the ground level and the verandah opened directly onto the pool deck. It is not the closest accommodation to the main street or beach but a 5-10 minute walk to either (we hired a car at the airport so it took a minute to drive to both). When we arrived, about 8pm, the reception office was closed but staff had left a letter for us welcoming us and giving us instructions to get into our room which was fine. We checked in the following morning and the staff were friendly and informed us of things to do in the area that day. They also booked a reef cruise for us the next day. The only criticism is that the kitchen smelled of stale food, I think it was coming from the dishwasher. We got used to it quickly but smelled it whenever we came back in after being out. Accommodation in Port Douglas can be pricey so Coral Apartments offers the opportunity of staying in a beautiful location without breaking the bank.

“Disappointed”

Disapointed to arrive mid afternoon to find a letter with instructions but could not get in the room and had to make several phone calls to arrange to get in - the door had been locked. Bathroom roof was mouldy and the smell went through the whole apartment. No replacement toilet rolls left and even when room was cleaned halfway through stay all commodities were not replaced i.e. toilet paper, washing powder. Very noisy - the room was right on the main road.
