Enjoyable and CleanPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Adding the additional towels daily would go a long way towards guest comfort.
Location: Port Douglas is amazing! We will return to that city and area. We were busy every day!
This hotel is lovely. The owners definitely have pride of place with their attention to design and detail throughout. It is in a great location in the town. The rooms are nicely designed and very clean. We found that the hotel policy of only 2 towels every 48 hours was very restricting given that it is the tropics (humid - so nothing dries easily). A day out, caught in the rain or using the pool, meant wet towels within 24 hours. But we had another 24 hours to wait until we crossed the two day limit according to the compendium. Also, charging for internet in this day and age is tacky -- build it into the room rate and offer free access.

Pros: Boutique adults only. Very close to the beach and local restaurants and bar but not close enough to be disturbed by noise or passing traffic.
Location: 60m from the beach. Down a quite end of Main Street. Easy walking distance to marina for reef tours. Wildlife habitat close by, 20mins mossman gorge

Great LocationPosted Jun 13, 2013
Pros: Favourite part about this hotel was the location and it was very relaxing.
Cons: No cable TV.
Location: Right next to shops but without all the noise / traffic.
Good average accommodation in a great location being only one minute from the beach and one minute from the shops. No need for the car or shuttle buses. Very quiet.

A little pearl...Posted Apr 28, 2013
Cons: Lack of a proper size swimming pool... though, we preferred to be on the beach.
greatly located. on one hand close for a morning walk on the beach, still just around the corner of the bustle of the town centre. The hosts are friendly, smiling and helpful, if needed. The unique look of the hotel and the lushness and colourful garden adding to the good holiday feelings.

One night standPosted Mar 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything was fine but we were there for just one night and didn't need a lot of the facilities that somebody staying for a few days might have appreciated.

Great Hotel ExperiencePosted Mar 15, 2013
Pros: Quiet location at end of street and nice secluded outdoor pool. Privately owned and operated by Fred and Antonia Eggers.
Cons: Had to pay for washer/dryer located in the garage. No free wifi.
Location: Great quiet location at end of street, but very close to downtown and beach.
We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and Fred was always willing to do whatever was needed to accommodate our needs and really made you feel very special. It was a great location, just short walk to down town area for restaurants and shopping. Fred/Antonia suggested the Great Barrier Reef excursion by Quicksilver and made the arrangements for us in advance. There is something to be said about small privately owned hotels, as they go out of their way to make your stay memorable.
