Ok, some mediocre service though.Posted Apr 29, 2015
So maybe I was wrong, I chose this hotel as I thought it was five star. The sheets were like sandpaper, well on one of the beds anyway. I went to order some room service at 5.30pm (when a lot of kids and families would eat) and I was told that there is no room service between 5 and 6pm as the chef takes a break. I'm glad I was sitting down. Then I asked for a room service menu - the lady said you'll need to call reception. That lady treated me like an idiot thinking I couldn't find it. She then brought up a photocopy version of the menu and didn't apologise, instead asked to come in the room as she was sure it would be there. When she saw there wasn't one, still no apology and handed me the stapled photocopy and said 'I'll let housekeeping know'. I called spa, the person who answered said she can't take bookings, I'd have to go down to the spa and book it myself. But I couldn't as it was closed, so I asked what time does it open tomorrow. Her answer was, I don't know, it depends how many bookings they have - probably around 9 or 10am. Anyway, I could go on but I won't.

Perfect hotel. Close to everythingPosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: Beach pool. Staff were so helpful and friendly. We had a one bedroom apartment so we had all the niceties of a laundry and full kitchen.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Unfortunately with stinger season and wet season.. there wasn't much to do but walk around the shops that were open and play pool at the pub.
We came to Port Douglas probably at the worst time - Jan - wet season. However we were so lucky with the weather. It rained at night maybe once. However it was soo muggy. The hotel was our oasis with a fantastically inviting beach pool and unbelievable air conditioning in the room. I don't think i would ever stay anywhere else in Port Douglas. Great time. Thanks to the staff. Downside to going to Port Douglas in the wet season.. it's almost a ghost town.. quite a few of the shops and restaurants are closed.. it's weird. Would have been better if there was a little more life.
