Friendly servicePosted Jun 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean hotel, nice friendly service. Probably a bit too far to walk into the main Port Douglas shops.

Wedding in Port DouglasPosted Oct 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great value for money - directly opposite Sheraton Mirage wedding venue. Convenient and we didn't get ripped off like some of the other guests across the road. Our one bedroom suite, combined with a one bedroom adjacent room would be ideal for two couples to share. Loved our time - just wish it could have been longer. Craig was very helpful and friendly

Nice reception but room needs updatePosted Jun 24, 2012
The hotel is bit out of the town. The man at the reception (I guess he is the owner, sorry forgot his name) was very nice and friendly. However the room needs an update for sure. We stayed in a studio room, the weir thing about the room was the curtain couldn't even cover the window, we had to use the cushions to cover the bottom part of the window otherwise people who walk pass by could see our bed. And there was no blanket or quilt in the room, we requested it and it was sent to our room straight away which was fine. The bar fridge in our room looked like 20 years old and made big noise, we had to unplugged it at night otherwise couldnt sleep. Considering the price we shouldn't complain too much, but it would be nice if the rooms could be updated at some point of time.

Upgraded or we would have been disappointedPosted Apr 11, 2012
Cons: Size of a studio
Location: Loved port Douglas
We booked 2 studios but thankfully were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment. We would have been very disappointed with 2 studios as there would have been no kitchen facilities at all. We had just moved from 2 apartments on Trinity Beach which were huge with every facility and so the studio's came as a bit of a shock. Now I know a studio means a bed and a shower room I will be much wiser in future.

Will be backPosted Jul 12, 2011
Loved every minute of our stay in PD, Mediterranean is a lovely hotel rooms were spacious and clean, two room suite had two bathrooms which was very handy. Craig was an amazing fountain of knowledge about PD and helped us book the best tours, we can't wait to go back.

Fab accommodation in Port DouglasPosted Nov 1, 2010
We booked this hotel in a bit of a rush the night before we arrived and to be honest as we hadn't really looked at the details of The Mediterranean we weren't really expecting much. However Craig and David the managers were just lovely and they have created the most wonderful self catering apartments. There was secure gated parking and a private swimming pool which also had BBQ facilities encouraging people to get together and socialise. All of the rooms as far as I could tell have been carefully decorated each with unique decor. The rooms are also spacious and clean with all of the mod cons you need. Along with this, Craig and David had a lot of information about the local area, and helped us book many trips and excursions to ensure we made the most of our time there. It is a 15-20 minute walk into the main high street in Port Douglas, or there is a handy shuttle bus that stops outside of the hotel every 15 minutes We have friends visiting Australia next year, and we will definitely be recommending The Mediterranean as a fantastic place to stay.
