Next time I'll pick a different hotel

Posted Mar 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Almost everything was broken in my hotel room. Lights were out, at least one table leg was almost completely off, there was a small hole in the bathroom door, the towel rack was hanging off the wall. The room was also not very clean. I had a "non-smoking" room, but the room reeked of smoke (also had a very distinct odor outside the room). There was also dust and cobwebs in every corner, and there were sticky spills on the walls behind nearly all of the dressers/nightstands (I know because I had to plug my phone in somewhere). The good things that I can say are that breakfast was what I expected and I was always greeted with a smile by the hotel staff.

GOOD LOCATION

The rooms themselves were nice and clean. However the doors of the 2 rooms we had did not shut properly. We had to slam them to ensure they were locked. If we hadn't checked before we left, they would have been open. Not a safe environment !!

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay at the Days Inn Port Huron. You do us a great service by taking the time out of your busy schedule to write. It is through concerned guests, such as yourself, that we gain insight into areas of our business that require attention. I was happy to hear that your room was nice and clean.

Close to downtown attractions.

Room isn't the greatest, for example they need to renovate the room a lot, plus they need to clean the rooms better for future guests. But as far as saving money this is probably the best spot other than staying across the border into Canada.

Disappointed

Posted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: EVERYTHING!
We traveled from Flint, MI to Port Huron in a snow storm. Our room was on a second floor and in the back of the motel. - no elevators - with an out side entrance. It was bitter cold, and the electronic key would not work. I returned to the office, and the woman told me I must not be doing it right. She did re-key the card, and said a man would meet me (when I insisted). He couldn't get the new key to work either at first. He blamed the cold. The room was ice cold with a wall heater that took a couple of hours to warm up. The temperature was never warm enough. The television remote control didn't work. The room was not clean, there weren't enough towels. It was a very disappointing stay.

It's alright

When we went back for new keys to our room (because they didn't work) she was standing right in front of the main entrance and smoking a cigarette, forcing us to walk through her cloud of smoke. This isn't a serious issue, just more of an annoyance. Other than that it's an okay hotel. It's cheap and decent enough if you just want a place to stay. The rooms are spacious and the beds aren't the greatest, but as I said; just fine if you need a place to sleep.
