Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Cons: Bed not so comfortable and choice of pillows would improve things
Location: Great location overlooking the Main Beach and River mouth
Nice place - close to beaches and the main parts of Port Macquarrie.

Perfect Location

Good service, great location, great views. Lacking a lift to second floor which could deter some - but if you want ocean views then it is worth it.

A good hotel

Posted May 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is across from fhe beach and 900m from the shops. It was tidy and clean. We checked out before reception was open and there were no instructions on what to do which was annoying and the rooms are so small that even hairspray will set off their very sensitive smoke alarms. I would stay again though.

Friendly local staff who make a genuine effort to ensure the comfort and safety of their guests. Well appointed rooms with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Located in a prime position with easy access to all major Port Macquarie attractions. Perfect for extended stays or that long weekend.

Not good

Posted Apr 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for just a night passing through Port Macquarie. Rooms was on the 3rd floor with no lift available, so had to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs. The room was outdated, carpet lifting from the floor and the walls barely patched with plaster to cover the holes. You can hear every noise from the rooms around around yours, so much that I could actually make out the conversations.

Great view from the breakfast room

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: Great view from the breakfast room Friendly staff Massive spa tub
Cons: Better mattresses would be nice Net curtain on front window would stop people looking straight into room as they walk past.
Location: 3 restaurants near by, beach a walk down hill, center of town a 10-20 minute walk away.
Stayed in room 313 recently which has no real seaview, unless you stand right at the door and duck down. The room was fairly nice, massive 2-person spa tub on the plus side though the mattress was fairly low quality (I could feel the springs) on the other. The hotel was a fair walk out from the center of town which was a bit of a shame as I was on foot. It's also several minutes downhill to the beach if that's what you want. There are a couple of cheap places to eat near the hotel plus I believe the Stunned Mullet is within walking distance to. I had a nice and fairly cheap meal at the Bowls Club round the corner and would recommend that as a good place to get your dinner. The breakfast room has a fantastic view, around 180 degrees. My breakfast took about twice as long as normal as I enjoyed the view so much! I went for the non-cooked breakfast option which cost $12.50 and included access to a toaster. The coffee machine was a fairly noisy thing that was the only thing to intrude on my breakfast experience (and I was sat as far away from it as possible). Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Next time, I think I'd stay somewhere a bit closer to the center or just bring a car. I'd certainly consider staying here again IF I could guarantee that I'd get a room on the east-facing rooms that have a balcony with a proper sea view
