This property is well situated near the main street and is within walking distance to beachfront restaurants and pubs. It is an historic old house well restored and maintained. The room was very spacious. Compared to any motel or hotel room it is enormous, light and airy. This house would be ideal for groups whereby you could enjoy your own private rooms and then convene in the downstairs sitting room which is well appointed and cozy. I recommend this property.

Fine Victorian Manor House beautifully restoredPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Style and tasteful decor
Cons: No lifts
Location: Portland Is a nice little town, well worth a couple of days' visit. The eateries were basic but pleasant-several pubs with restaurants and casinos.
A random choice for overnight stop proved very rewarding - beautifully furnished with a number of Victorian artifacts. Large room with basic Self- catering facilities. Lovely bathroom with modern fitting in Victorian style. Nice touch was a decanter supplying free port

Pros: Love the spaciousness and character
Cons: The double bed - would have been nicer to haveva bigger bed
The room was gorgeous, we had plenty of room, the facilities were great. Location was in close proximity to all local attractions. The home is well maintained and clean.

Old world charmPosted Jan 23, 2012
Pros: The character
Cons: Maybe a little stark
Location: Great location
The rooms have old world charm and furniture. Centrally located, Off-street parking was useful.

Will definitely be back!Posted Sep 27, 2011
The Annesley House was everything I had hoped for. Quality, comfortable and charming accommodation for a quiet weekend away. We stayed in Rosalie's retreat for two nights and absolutely loved the feel of the place. We barely heard the neighbours (always a worry when staying in B&B's) and the owner Mark was very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend it for those staying in Portland.
