Extremely basic and overpriced for this time of the year. No heat but extra blanket helped. Lots of traffic on the street and we were the only people there with units farther away from the street.

Thanks for the review. The rates are low now as it is the end of the season and you chose us for being the lowest available. You were asked if you needed a space heater and you declined it. All the queen bed rooms are in the front.

Opinions, expectations and tastes vary from person to person. The room you stayed is a cute, small, clean room. Many have stayed in that room and had no complaints such as you. Your usage of 'terrible' has no meaning when You give a thumbs up on day two and now these comments. ??

We got to the motel and the room was not what the room liked like online. Everything was dirty, dead bed bugs on the floor, the fridge was dirty with food/sauce stains, the bathtub had residue, the bathroom was entirely pink from the 70s, there was mold on shower tiles and attempted to paint over molded grout, the bed sounded like it youd fall through whenever you moved, there was a huge crack at the bottom of the door and you could see through it, insects were coming through the crack on the door all night, the the floor was covered in dead bugs and dirt, there were used stained towels with hair, AND 3x6 mold patch on the side chair that was asked the owner to move. We we’re NOT refunded after speaking to the owner, we were NOT given a discounted rate, and we were NOT offered a cleaner room we were rudely told to go elsewhere if we didn’t like it. They did not change the bedding during our stay, only replaced the towels. They quietly vacuumed the hotel after our first night but left a bunch of dead bugs on the floor in the bathroom. They had a “tips for cleaners envelope” which was hilarious considering all they did was give us towels. Do not recommend & should be shut down by Public Health.

Was over priced and the owner/ manager has you sign a paper saying you won't stain sheets blankets or pillow cases, way overboard for the average room. The topper was he made me put a $160 deposit on the room and only returned $150, with no explanation. I won't stay there again.

Things happen unexpectedly that are beyond anyone's control. Damages happen unintentionally and we have to cover for such damages. Everything was fine with your stay until the damage deposit. It is clearly stated from us that a damage deposit will be collected 150 cash or 160 on a card.( credit card charges of 10) The refund will be 150. Neither did you read our message nor did you understand what was said at check in. We are transparent what we do. Even after hearing from us over the phone today, you write a review on this damage deposit. Yes we provide a clean room with clean sheets and towels. And we are reasonable priced.

The gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful, offering advice on what to do and what was going on for us out-of-towners. There was a sign posted looking for housekeeping help, so I think they were between housekeepers but he told us to come down and get anything we needed from him. Good location! 10 or so minutes to walk to the beach, but far enough to escape the noise and get a good night’s sleep. Air conditioner, fridge, toiletries. It was totally fine and we’d stay here again!

Clean quiet. However room is cold with no heat source. Was able to get additional blanket but room to cold to shower before leaving. Fortunately was only one night stay then headed home.

Pleasant surprise
The room was clean and recently renovated, and the hotel is walking distance from the beach. For the price I didn’t expect much but was surprised to have a nice comfortable room.

I’ve stayed before, the property is being Updated and my room was great. QUIET which I like. Close to all amenities but no crowds. Plenty of parking, the staff was very attentive and knowledgeable; my trip was amazing. OOB is a national treasure on the EC !!!

I saw some bad reviews for this place (and many others in the area) I was expecting the worst but pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, but small. It’s a place to rest your head at the end of the day. It was perfect for us. Easy check in, and a small walk to the beach. Would stay here again

This property should not be "advertised" as a decent place to stay. The property is run down and derelict and run down. It looks to be unsafe and not a place I would stay with my granddaughter who was with me.

You did not even stay here. Strong words from a person who did not step in at all. We have many guest who are happy with the accommodation. For someone who did not step inside and judging from passing by, your opinion or review does not matter at all.This is a decent, affordable and safe place.

Owner is in the process of renovating the interior of the rooms. Room 5 was completed and updated. Was great for an overnighter. This is a no frills motel and fitted our purpose. Motel is not on the water.

Run down and over priced
So, it was clean and the AC worked (and manager was very pleasant). That’s about all the positives I can relate about this place. Room was tiny. Walls are paper thin. Bathroom was just big enough to turn around in. Exterior was so run down, I drove passed the place thinking “ that can’t be it”… but sadly, it was. Exterior photos on Hotels.com should be removed because they are NOT representative of the current state of this motel (as of 8/22). Pool has been filled in and now Is completely overgrown with brush. Debri scattered everywhere, just plain run down and neglected. Very disappointing, especially for the area. All that said, we needed a one night stay, walking distance to the beach and it did not require a two night minimum. (Most in this area do this time of year). Paid $170 for this place… about $100 too much if you ask me. Did not feel very safe there. Would not recommend.

Thanks for mentioning that the room was clean and had no problem with it. The bathroom is compact and a standard size with a tub, toilet and wash sink. Cannot make it bigger for individual needs. As explained to you, shortage of manpower, could not compete renovations. Not feel safe is an exaggeration. You were out chatting with other guests. We never had any break-ins or thefts in the past. We have cameras and is very safe. You can even leave your car unlocked.

The smell of must hit you as soon as you opened the door, there was mold around the bathtub and tiny ants were everywhere. If the room would have been refundable, we would have left before unpacking the car. I did like that it was a close enough walk to downtown and the beach. Would maybe be okay for 1 night, but we booked for 3 and would not stay for prolonged amount of time.

If it was that bad, first thing anyone would do is to come to the office and ask for a room change. We would have gladly changed the room ( one was available ) if you had approached us. While you were here we did not hear any complaints from you and the assumption, is that you are OK with the room. We checked the room for ants, there were non. The dirt around the bath tub was cleaned, not mold. It could have been better stay if you had spoken to us.

This was a great place for us to stay on our way back from Acadia to Boston. The price was right for the short duration of our trip, and the location was nice. It is about a 10 minute walk down to the beach area where there are lots of restaurants and activities. The room was dated and simple, but clean. The AC unit was a bit loud, but that’s hard to avoid. Also, the motel sits right on a busy road, so expect to hear some cars. Overall we are pleased with the stay. The property manager who checked us in was very kind and friendly.

No closet, no bathroom counter, sheets like cardboard, towels paper thin and crunchy, pealing paint, a/c not working and it was 97 degrees, old furniture that was failing apart, no amenities at all, fridge in room not working… old full size bed… the list could go on… no shower head so it was like taking a shower under a hose!!!!

The AC and refrigerator works well. Had no complaints from previous and next two guests. The mattress is new and a month old. The shower head has two settings, soft and high pressure. The sheets are professionally cleaned and pressed. The armoire makes up for the closet and is not falling apart. Only thing we can admit is the bathroom counter. You are the first one to complain about this room. When you call a brand new mattress as old and cannot operate a fridge and an AC, we cannot take this complaint seriously. Thanks

Overall the stay was poor. Price was fine, however, the place needs to be updated and the amenities should improve… a coffee machine would be nice and lights should all work. Maybe some flowers and landscaping would improve the inn.
