stop mid-way through Oregon

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Mod/new upgrades, great bed, advertised clean remote control for tv in room, fairly fresh wet/vac carpet, spacious & quiet, great shower set up!
Cons: did not like the 3pm only check in time- a/c a little loud- cycled quite often ending w/a rush of water every time it stopped. annoying.
Location: dog park near by! yea! mini marts! and wall mart
even though my room happened to be next to the laundry facilities the walls were well insulated and i was pleased i had a relaxing night- Modern - quiet and accommodating-

Excellent for price- family trip

Posted Aug 15, 2014
This hotel exceeded out expectations. We have 3 young kids and the room was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was hot and delicious- eggs, sausage, quesadillas- much better than other hotel breakfasts. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Portland- depending on traffic. Right off the 5 and very close to the Columbia River. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean Hotel but close to the I5 and car necessary

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: The long counter and extra sink was very useful.
Cons: Breakfast. Vary the menu for the benefit of guests staying multilple nights. Add more couple and quad seating in the main room.
We stayed 3 nights during a hot week in July. The room was large and clean and had a useful fridge and large counter with an extra sink - but it was also at the end closest to the I5 which was noisy all through the night with the window open. The area of room you get for the "special" rate? The hotel is located northern more industrial part of Portland so a car is needed to get to the sights in town and the nicer shopping areas south of Portand. Breakfast was fine but the same each day - try to avoid peak times to get a seat and the overflow room is a nicer eating environment. To avoid the I5 into town, use the 99 to go north/south just east of the hotel. Slower but a calmer route and you can see the real Portland. There is no pool so kids may not be happy.

Nice, affordable place to stay when visiting PDX

Posted Aug 4, 2014
We flew in to visit the city and were concerned about transportation because we were not traveling by car. Turns out, we didn't need a car! Free shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the Best Western. The MAX Yellow Line takes you right into the Pearl District (Powell's bookstore & Stumptown Coffee), Chinatown (Voodoo Doughnuts), and of course Downtown Portland (FOOD TRUCKS!!). We took the train into Downtown everyday and from there walked to the other places. Honestly, if you can walk for 5 minutes, you will have no problem getting from the hotel to the MAX Line. $5 all day pass. We did not spend much time in our room, but the room is nice and this hotel is really a great bargain. So much cheaper than staying closer to Downtown. Yes, there are some homeless near by, but Portland in general has a very visible homeless population all over the city so that is something you have to be aware of before deciding to travel here.

Was a nice experiance.

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: It was right off I-5. It was clean and had restrants very close by.
We stayed two nights. I had to have a package delivered to the hotel and they called to let me know as soon as it got there. The hotel staff were all very friendly, approachable and seemed to be looking out for our needs. It was a wonderful stay.

Our trip

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The location, the large room, the staff and the inexpensive rates.
Cons: The lighting in the bathroom is awful. As women, it is hard to get ready in such orangey lighting - more natural would be better.
Location: It is close to Washington and to Portland. The location was ideal for our needs.
From the moment we arrived and enjoyed the free parking and the wonderful service as we checked to seeing our clean and large room to checking out - our entire stay was fantastic. The room was air conditioned, quiet and comfortable and the location was central to our needs.
