Convenient motel in Hood River, OR

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: no suggestions
Location: restaurants, Columbia River, Sat. market
Easy access and ample parking made our stay here convenient. The room was comfortable with good ventilation from the in room air conditioner. The breakfast looked good, but we didn't sample it as we had a breakfast meeting in town. Our room was quiet, conducive to good sleep. Restaurants are nearby. Nice view of Mt. Adams from the parking lot.

Motel was clean. Pool area was well maintained. Staff was friendly and eager to please. Warm cookies was a nice treat! Motel doesn't have elevator which made getting luggage to and from room difficult. Overall very pleasant experience!

Expedia saves the day

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: The best in Forest Grove. Good waffles for breakfast and decent coffee. Clean, big rooms. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Better outside venting for the pool, as the whole first floor has that chlorine odor.
Location: Check out Sake One, the nearby sake distillery.
I walked into the lobby without a reservation. The desk clerk gave me the runaround about no standard rooms available, offered a suite for full price. I went to my car, got online, and through Expedia grabbed a standard room at a discount price. 5 minutes later I returned to the same clerk with a reservation. Hah! I've stayed there many, many times before and still recommend it. It is the best in Forest Grove and good for a Best Western. But always check on Expedia. Their aggressive old-school approach to walk-in pricing is not appreciated by this frequent customer.

The motel was a great place to stay. The family had a lot of fun in the pool area. Others in the motel were great to get to know and make as friends. I think a lot of good friends were made during the stay and hope that we do meet again some time.

Easy to find location.

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The pool was great and breakfast had enough selection varieties to please children.
Location: Right on the main highway in Forest Grove made it easy to find. The beach is about 60 minutes away.
This was a great place for my family and I to spend the night before heading to the beach. The pool was perfect for our kids and Since it was open 24hrs we were able to take that last early morning swim before checking out. It really was a hit with the little swimmers.

Rooms under renovation

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: Staff was nice. Glad to see that the hotel is remodeling and looking forward to its completion.
Cons: Update mattresses. Fan coil unit fans are very loud. The fan motors should serviced, balanced or replaced.
Location: Close to Pacific University.
Hotel room was located on wing being remodeled, basically in between rooms under construction. Upon arrival the room door was open which caused me to question if I was at the correct room. It was late, room was made up and relatively clean. Fan coil unit fan was loud and with it being hot outside the room was too hot without it running. New linens were nice, but mattress was older style and rock hard. In the morning, I noticed the plumbing was not finished allowing water to leak into the wall cavity. Shower hot water tempering valve needed to be adjusted. Hot water would easily burn an unsuspecting guest. Glad to only be there for one night this trip.

Campus Visit with Teenage Daughters

Very nicely decorated and comfortable; accommodating front desk staff. Beds were super comfortable. Only disappointment was the advertised workout room was about 1/3 the size of a guest room with no ventilation, one bicycle (which was out of order) and one treadmill - felt like a closet. Would stay again, just would not bother packing my running shoes.
