“Very good pet friendly hotel”

Excellent location for business and leisure in Portland with convenience of driving to wine country for the day. Pet friendly and well appointed for price range. Looking forward to return visit. Soon.

“Crowne Plaza in Lake Oswego, Oregon, is a tired hotel in need of renovation.”

While we enjoyed our trip to Portland, Oregon, our stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Lake Oswego was only a marginal experience. Having stayed here in years past I can say little, if any, renovation or maintenance has occurred in the past 7 or 8 years. The facility is tired looking, the interiors of the rooms are dated, and our room was not particularly clean. Old coffee was left in the carafe from a day or two before, which made it totally unappealing to make coffee. The front revolving door, which used to be power-assisted, is now completely manual (you have to push the door to get it to revolve). There was a very large, loud wedding anniversary party that dominated the lobby and pool area and made it difficult for other guests to enjoy themselves. There were also busloads of foregin tourists who were obnoxiously loud (yelling and stomping around) before 6:00 a.m. near our door, which faces the open air lobby. The front desk help was satisfactory but there was no enthusiasm in any of the hotel employees. Overall, the price of the hotel is very appealing, the location is fabulous (right off of I-5), and the restaurants and other facilities around the hotel make it very convenient. The hotel itself, however, desparately needs to be updated and renovated to make it a good hotel again. As it present sits, it is about a 2.5 out of a 5.0.

Area recommendations

We very much enjoyed the multitude of shopping facilities in and around the Tualatin/Tigard area. We had a very nice meal in the Clinton neighborhood of Southeast Portland and would recommend exploring the many small neighborhood communities that are full of historical buildings, unique shopping experiences, and superb restaurants. While I like downtown Portland, if you visit Portland and minimize your stay in the hustle and bustle of the City, you will enjoy your time in Portland more.

“Good but could be better”

The room was very nice and clean. It would be nice if they provided a mini fridge in the room. A little noise from traffic makes it into your room but the bed is so comfortable that it was easy to fall asleep.

“Easy freeway access, close to OHSU”

Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Bed was comfortable, and we actually got some much needed sleep. We were here for a medical appointment and surgery at OHSU, which is less than 10 minutes away. We would return again without any hesitation. The hotel restaurant menu is a bit expensive, but there are many other restaurants nearby. I saw a microwave oven in a nook off the main lobby desk, for re-heating food or making popcorn?

“Lake Oswego Weekend”

Was traveling with 4 people and needed two beds. Hotel was booked from a conference and had to settle for a king suite with sofa pull out. Pull out was very uncomfortable. King bed was nice.

“Will stay here again.”

This hotel was available through Expedia's "unpublished rates" program. I took the chance and got a nice room for my family of four at a very reasonable price. The indoor/outdoor pool was fun and the kids loved the glass elevator in the lobby. We will stay here again!

“Clean comfortable hotel”

I spent one night at this facility and stayed in my room after checkin. The room was clean and comfortable, though I had a little trouble setting the temperature in the room. It would be nice if they had a thermostat rather than an economy style heating/cooling unit. But it was a pleasant stay and I would return if the price is right.

This hotel is a bit of a distance from the airport, but was still acceptable.
