Beds are the worst I've ever slept on

Posted Jul 22, 2015
They desperately need to replace the beds. They are very uncomfortable and I wouldn't be surprised if they were well over 20 years old. Only two of the outlets in the room worked and when unplugging one it made big sparks. The water would cycle from hot to cold no matter what time you took your shower. Also I'm pretty sure half of the people staying at the hotel actually lived there.

What a dump!

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Everything was stained and gross! Chipping paint, holes in walls, missing light bulbs, exposed dust-filled vents, the list goes on. Doors didn't even sit well in their frames. We did not feel safe that night. Had a very choppy sleep.

Decent, but not so decent.

Pros: Please see the experience.
Cons: Clean it up!
Location: Nothing much. The hotel is sitting in the middle of a busy truck route with a lot of truck shops in the vicinity.
Pros: 1. 15 min to PDX airport. 2. 1 mile from a shopping area. 3. Cheap. Cons: 1. Not so clean. 2. Smokers all over the place, not enforcing smoking ban in the hotel. (We are non-smokers). 3. The "breakfast" is nothing but sugar-covered donuts, english muffins, and a sweet pastry thingy. and 24 hour. For the same rent, we got a real breakfast in our Seattle hotel.

Pros: Location.
Cons: See abouve.
The hotel's front desk staff were outside in the parking lot and came in when someone came to the front desk. Not sure why this happened? The no smoking within ten feet of the building is a joke. The room next to us had smokers and a glass full of cigarette butts were beside their door. Very discouraging when you book a non-smoking hotel because you're allergic to smoke! I had a mouldy stain on my pillow case which was put on when the sheets were changed. The breakfast only had Danish pasteries even though a toaster was evident. Only powdered milk for the coffee. The outdoor rug on the balconies was absolutely filthy and stained. Mould around the bathtub was quite evident. Bedspread and blanket have not been washed in a very long time. Extremely disappointed with hotel. I hope other Econo Lodges aren't this bad. Makes me leery about booking with this chain.

Do not stay there if your priority is safety!

A lot of strange and suspiciouspeople around this motel! We did book it for 2 nights but stayed only 1 night because of the safety!

You can do better. This place feels like a motel you would see in a movie. The room seemed like it had not been cleaned since the last guest.

Cheap

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Having a microwave and fridge in the room was really handy.
Cons: Towels and sheets. Once they become stained or have holes in them they should be thrown out!
Location: Located at a busy, industrial intersection. Several fast food joints within 5 minutes. Close to bus stop - one bus takes you to downtown Portland.
Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean when I arrived and the daily service was effective. This is a really basic and pretty run-down motel in a very industrial area. If you want cheap, this is it, but don't expect the Hilton!

A very old hotel

Posted May 24, 2015
This is a very old facility in need of some repair and updating. The carpet is old and stained, furniture chipped and badly worn, electrical outlets are inadequate and require moving things to access (they were also pulling out of the wall and not securely attached-my phone charger kept falling out of the plugin). The bed mattress was totally worn out and went down to the box springs when I sat/laid on it. I heard banging and people stomping up the stairs and down the walkway all night. I could hear the guest next door snoring through the wall. Pillow cases appeared clean and bathroom had been cleaned. I slept on top of the bedspread due to the general room condition, in my clothes. The front desk staff member was okay (didn't smile much or offer any general small talk-just checked me in and when asked for directions to get on my way in the morning, he showed me a google map on his computer screen and I wrote down directions) There was a man seated in the very small office area where you check in (I had a late arriving flight and didn't check in until around 1 am) who was dressed like a homeless person (layers of frayed, soiled clothing). I had to drag my bag up two sets of stairs to the second floor which would not work for elderly or handicapped. I did not see an elevator, nor was I told of one). There was a microwave and small fridge in the room as well as a tv (which I did not try).

Cigarette burns on the bed (in a non smoking room). Things falling apart. Our hotel key stopped working several times, and the guy behind the counter didn't once ask for our IDs. Pretty bad, even for an econolodge.
