Hotel in DT Portland

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Embassy suites is in a good location. Straight forward service but I think they need to clean the rooms, fix all the small things like levers and hopefully the pool will be a little cleaner than when I was there.

Very nice hotel..walls a bit thin

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Good hotel. Decent location downtown. Rooms well appointed. Excellent free happy hour and breakfast. Gym is small and limited. Mainly cardio. Bedroom walls thin and could hear my "lively" neighbors more than I needed to. Beds comfy.

Nice,classic hotel, right in town.

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Location, free drinks and great breakfast, nice staff.
Cons: Mattress was fair, could be better. One of the hot tubs wasn't working. Those were the only issues.
Location: Right in down town, few blocks to china town.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel is beautiful. Free drinks every night and a great free breakfast every morning. I would stay here again.

Fantastic value

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: location, room, breakfast
Location: Lots of sights nearby, but also close to the light rail and bus systems. Surrounding neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but we didn't feel unsafe.
My friend and I stayed here for a week, and we were very happy with our stay. The hotel is in good condition in a great location, the room was clean with everything we could need (including a bottle opener), and the staff were friendly and helpful. Perhaps the best part, though, was the amazing complimentary breakfast (with anything you could possibly want for breakfast) and evening wine/beer reception offered every day. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel/staff, misleading costs

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: The staff was absolutely awesome at this hotel. Very friendly and very customer oriented.
Cons: The hidden fees of parking, Wi-Fi and the never ending tip jar. We are already paying a lot of the hotel, stop asking for more.
Location: Close to the River, Mall and Powell's bookstore. Not a convenient walk to the OR Convention Ctr if you need to take gear and walk across the bridge.
The hotel was AWESOME! The staff was terrific, the breakfast was wonderful and all the extras were outstanding. What I wasn't prepared for was the parking and Wi-Fi fees plus the constant tip jar. Even down to the person cooking omelets in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. However, I would tell them to have a lot of extra cash on hand to be able to tip constantly. I would love it if they would just say "no tipping allowed" and give the staff a little extra. For $34 a day parking, they should be able to. I am not a city girl, so maybe this is just the new "normal."

Spacious and convenient but the food could be better. Close to Stumptown, Voodoo, and food trucks.

Pleasant weekend stay

Posted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: Staff, location
Stayed over the weekend to attend family gathering. Check-in and check-out process very efficient. Keys didn't work initially but second set worked fine. Room was clean but a bit stuffy. Can't open windows (which keeps external noise to a minimum but keeps out fresh air). Although the hotel is a bit "long in the tooth", it was a pleasant stay. Did not take advantage of breakfast/happy hour offered.
