Nice visit to Portland but $15 parking

Posted May 5, 2014
I have never seen a hotel charge for parking! they may charge a fee for an extended stay but... we had two vehicles. no break on the fee. Valet was nice but not needed. It wasn't the Waldorf nor did I expect it to be!

Not the standards that I have grown used to

Posted Apr 26, 2014
Pros: the location
Cons: Warm it up!
in my many Hampton stays. Halls and rooms are freezing. Again, bath with shower only and no tub. No hot tub in pool area and the pool was closed for cleaning and when open water was freezing. No fruit until the last day at breakfast, because 'the slicer was broken". Staff tries to clean halls and floor of breakfast area during busy guest times.

Warm and Comfortable Gem

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Comfortable, clean, friendly. Excellent breakfast. Lots of heat, clean towels, &tc. Excellent Valet parking.
Location: Convenient to wonderful restaurants, gift shops, pretty view of the port of Portland
I was seeking a quiet, warm hotel at the end of a chilly winter. Needed a place to nap in the days, a place that was a short walk to excellent restaurants and had a nice view.

Great location in Portland

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Location is great; room d├ęcor is pleasant and very clean.
Cons: Can't think of a thing!
Location: Old Port. Merrill Auditorium for concerts.
We were able to walk to a concert and back - and have a late dinner at Sebago Brewery (which is located at the hotel) after. Perfect location!

a great visit to Portland

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Room design was one of the best I have experienced. Didn't hear the toilet flushing in the middle of the night or the neighbors.
Cons: Keeping the coffee urns available 24/7. Not having to pay for valet parking.
Location: This hotel was within walking distance of nearly everything we wanted to do.
Absolutely loved the hotel. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast was served until 10:00 - I do like to sleep in . . . The only thing I wished for . . and not even a deal breaker . . . was on Sat. afternoon, I would have liked a cup of coffee and all the coffee urns were put away. I don't really agree with having to pay a valet to park my car, but they were so nice that I almost didn't mind. We love visiting Portland.

Nice hotel in great location

Posted Mar 29, 2014
The hotel room was clean and modern and seemed pretty newly renovated. Loved the all day coffee bar, and having the Sebago Brewing Company restaurant on the first floor was a big plus. The location right in the Old Port was great for walking to all the shops. We thought having a parking lot for hotel customers was a pretty basic amenity, but then we found out that it was valet parking only, not included in our room fee. That seemed kind of cheap.... Another minor negative was that we were looking forward to a warm soak in a hot tub on a cold, blustery day, but there is no hot tub, the pool isn't very warm, and there's no tub in the room, so no warm soak for us! The great location and clean room far outweighs the negatives for us, though!
