Great location and nice hotel. We wanted a place with a pool and one that was pet friendly and good for families. This was all that. The pool water was too cold and that was the only negative.

We were shocked to find out the only onsite parking was valet for $35 per night! We were told to park on the street but the car could be towed!! Nothing about the parking was in their website so we found this unacceptable. Especially after a long day driving to get this messagemeans we will not go to this property again

Nice place. Comfortable, nice people. Great location in downtown Portland. Wasn't thrilled that valet is the only parking available.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn. The rooms were very clean and spacious for a family of four. The pool was a hit with our two young children. We enjoyed the complementary breakfast, it had all our favorites. The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. The location was perfect, very close to many delicious restaurants and shopping. Overall, I highly recommend for families traveling with children. We’re looking forward to our next trip to Portland and stay at the Hampton Inn.

It was a long wait at the front desk checking in. The woman at the front desk was very efficient and extremely pleasant. Just a long wait as many people were checking in at once. The line was long

The Hampton Inn is affordable, basic accommodation. WiFi was not easy to access and the additional $35 parking fee was not expected.

Within walking distance of many different places to eat. The hotel was nice. Booking through Expedia was not a good experience. We thought we were getting a top floor suite, ocean view. When we checked it, the front desk said we were on the second floor and as soon as I stated that we booked an ocean view, she gave us a ocean view, but not a king bed suite. Disappointed with Expedia.

Maine in the winter is beautiful! My girlfriends and I had a weekend getaway and we love staying in Portland at the Hampton Inn Waterfront!

The Valet was convenient, there is a late open Bar & Restaurant which was superb, the room was spacious and all the Hotel was well taken care of. The staff was the best part! friendly and approachable.

Disappointing stay
Very disappointing! We usually choose Hampton inn but Portland Hampton Inn was not at all what we expected. Homeless people passed out in lobby, shower not turn on stuck, breakfast nothing great, valet left my car on for 20 min unattended I only knew got an alert on my phone we come to Portland often will not choose Hampton inn again

I love this hotel, have stayed here a dozen times probably. Unfortunately this time around was overrun with a kids hockey team or something that seemed to spend the entirety of their weekend running amok in the hallway. 20 preteen kids in the hallway, banging on our door saying they’re the FBI, running up and down the hall throwing footballs, blocking my door when I’m trying to get in my room etc. parents nowhere to be found and didn’t seem to care about anyone else this effected. I blame the parents mostly, amazing that parents were actually present, but I dunno guys give these kids what for. We all know if these were college kids/adults causing half this much mayhem they would’ve gotten booted in an instant. I don’t wanna pay $200/night to be terrorized by a league of unsupervised brats that get a pass because staff are scared to confront kids. Likely will choose a different hotel in the future

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. I appreciated the nightlight in the bathroom, so you didn’t have to turn on the bright lights in the depths of night.

Great hotel in the heart of old Portland. Breakfast included (wich saved us a lot $$$). Kids enjoyed the pool. Roms are clean and spacious. Easy parking ($30 US) a day. We stay at this hôtel every year and we like it.

We loved the location. Pictures did not match up to what rooms looked like. Was not a clean as I prefer. Heating system is very loud going on and off. We could hear the guest above us walking and talking. TV’s in the gym had no service. Check in attendant was lovely as was the parking valet.
