overnight stay for a meeting

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: the service.
Cons: let people know that the shuttle is not a free service, I assumed it was a benefit of staying at the hotel but its not.
Location: i didn't have enough time to do anything but it looked close to a Ross store which would be good if your luggage was lost :)
it was a quick trip and all was very pleasing except for my lack of sleep. I was in room 357 and the traffic noise was distracting. I was a little shocked when I was told I had to pay $15 for the shuttle, I had already tipped the driver $5 so make sure you understand it is not a part of the hotel package. The food was good and so was the service.

Rustic feel and good amenities.

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: the overall look/feel - very rustic yet modern amenities.
Location: It is not as close to Portland as we thought it would be from the map on the website. You definitely need a rental car to do anything.
Check in through check out was easy and staff were friendly.

My Weekend Fishing Trip In Castle Rock WA

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Food and Staff and overall warm feeling. A place to stay if you want to enjoy your time.
Great place over all. Good job to staff and cook. My hat off to the waiteress from Boston. She noticed I needed stuff and she took a moment to assist. Maybe another bar tender on staff during busy hours. Thanks for a great experience.

VIP one night stay.

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Koi pond, kind of hidden in front of hotel due to drop off and check in lanes in front of hotel. Large parking area lighted and security cameras.
Cons: More thought out and planned recognition / stay for Expedia VIP guests.
Location: In a commercial office area near to large college campus and adjacent to highway.
The good: Great hotel if you are doing a large scale planned event. About 3 were going on when we were here. Memory foam bed was nice item. Nice jetted soaking tub in our bath. VIP upgrade was not available for this stay. Keurig coffee maker in room, could have used better items to go with morning in room coffee. Hotel is close by to highway access and has nice Breakfast sit down (Elmers) nearby. Restaurant and bar also available in lobby of hotel. A single electric car was charging in front of the hotel during the evening hours not sure if case by case or normal item. Our room had one private sleeping area (with door to close). Nice flat screens with programmed channels. Like the birds sounds played in the hallways while going to room. The Bad: White tile bathroom required more attention to remove darkened areas and ensure visibility of cleanliness. Room curtain rail needed maintenance (falling down). Bed frame box spring platform some what noisy. Road noise through A/C box quite noticeable. Had to use window shades to decrease noise from highway. Window locks on windows falling a part or in need of repair. Need to check water temps at sinks seemed to be at scalding level. Overall: Stayed at several VIP hotels. I would not consider this hotel VIP (at a single guest user level) just a better than average place to stay when bench marked to other VIP hotels. Just an average stay for me. Need to rethink listing as a VIP hotel.
