Getting out of the storm

Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: The friendliness of the staff, the ambiance and the fact that it is close to the Maine Med Center.
Cons: The room smelled musty like the rug may have gotten wet. That is the only thing. Check the smell of the rooms.
Location: There is a lot to do, close to downtown, med center, movies , resteraunts, water front and airport.
We spent the night as my husband had surgery scheduled for the next morning and it was snowing and would continue for a couple of days. To be safe we went in and spent the night at the Hilton. The Staff was amazing both at the desk and the lady who waited on us in the resteraunt. Best hamburger I have ever eaten and my husbands sandwich was excellent too. Having the snacks out for everyone was an extra plus. We would certainly stay there again even if there was no snow storm. It was a pleasant experience.

Nice hotel

It was very clean, I'm very ocd when it comes to cleanliness and this might sound weird but smell. The elevator did smell like cigarettes which I understand smokers will smoke, but our hotel room was very nice. I would definitely come again and stay, especially for $100 bucks.

Everyone was nice. Staff were helpful. Room was adequate for an overnight stay. However, parking was an issue. Too many empty handicap spaces close to entrances. No parking available close to the entrance, had to park quite a distance away and walk to the entrance in cold and stormy conditions.

Bang for your Buck!

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: It was clean and the staff was very helpful and kind.
Cons: The beds were a little hard and the pillows a little too soft.
Location: If you are traveling by plane, this is a perfect hotel, because it is right near the Portland airport. We went to a concert down town.
My family and I stayed one night and had an extremely pleasant stay. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, the pool and whirlpool were relaxing, and the room was clean and modern. The restaurant, although it does not seem like much, was very good. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive and kind. The $11.95 breakfast buffet was worth it. Eggs to order and a good selection of breakfast foods including fruit, yogurt, pastries and more. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again when we come back to Portland.

Heat control display was not working. They fixed it while we were out. PBS station would not load on the TV for some reason. Also fixed that. Do not understand why they insist on pumping loud blaring music outside the front door to greet you on your arrival. Why does every hotel think this is in any way welcoming? It is completely off-putting.

Shelter from the storm.

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Almost everything. Excellent location.
Cons: I wish the room had had a radio and a tub.
I came in out of a snowstorm and was made to feel immediately comfortable, safe, and welcome.
