“Great Hotel in Great Location”

The Hilton Garden Inn is in a great location, within easy walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and the waterfront. It's right across the street from the ferry terminal so it's very easy to get around without a car. The staff is friendly and helpful, with the exception of one or two front desk employees who involved in personal conversations from time to time while we were waiting to be helped. We didn't use the pool or hot tubs, but they looked very nicely kept. This was one of the more reasonably priced hotels in Old Port and we would definitely come back. The room was very comfortable and well-kept as well.

“Couple from Washington, DC”

Very nice hotel located in the heart of the harbor district. Close to all the bars, restaurtants and shopping. Staff was excellent. Our flight out of Portland wasn't until 7 PM and they allowed us to keep our car on-site (valet parking) all day after checkout for no additional charge.

“The Best”

The most customer-friendly staff that I have ever met. From the front desk personnel to the maintenance staff, everyone is a first-class professional (rare these days). We had never been to Maine before, now we plan to visit this hotel at least annually. It was my birthday but I didn't tell the staff. Somehow they found out and presented us with a complimentary bottle of wine. Thank you so very much for me and my wife's birthday vacation experience.

“Great staff, fantastic stay!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. First and foremost, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean, a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The location is also great. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we could not want for anything more.

“Great place!”

We stayed here for a quick "getaway" weekend. It was terrific! The hotel was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet very nice (only complaint---coffee was REALLY strong and bitter). Within easy walking distance of all of Old Port and some amazing restaurants---we will definitely stay here again when we return to Portland!

“Old Port Gem”

We have been to Portland many times but this was only our second overnight. This hotel was in an excellent location and the price was more than fair for what we got. The staff was very accomodating. I hate to pay the fee to park but the valet services were excellent. The pool is small and there is a "whirlpool" not a jacuzzi so now I know the difference, but it was adequate. Definately request a room in the front because the view and "people watching" from the large window onto Commercial Street was great. Fridge in the room was convenient as there are so many places to dine within walking distance and wanted to take the "doggie" bag. Bar is quaint and there is anything you could want within the neighborhood. Will stay here everytime we want some time in the "Old Port".
