“Try to stay someplace else if you can!!”

Staff was not helpful and rude!! Rooms dirty!!! Found other peoples stuff in it and beds did not seem clean at all.

“Great, Affordable Hotel with free shuttle service”

Comfortable, standard Holiday Inn Express. Had mini fridge, microwave, and a nice TV. Room was a good size. Free shuttle service was helpful. Staff was friendly, and the free breakfast was fantastic.

Area recommendations

Take Red MAX to downtown. Walk along the river, Pearl district, Washington Park, Old Town (during the day)

When to go

Early July seemed perfect. The sun was out most of the time, and from what every local said.. thats rare! No humidity at all. Perfect weather.

“I expected better.”

Two nights out of the five I stayed at the hotel, there was no parking space for my car. The first night I was told to go park in the hotel lot next door. On the final night of my stay there was no parking place again. The only two places remaining were obviously meant for compact cars (but not marked) and would not fit my rental because of the size of the cars that were parked in the adjoining spaces. The same desk clerk told me to park next door again. Upon telling him there was no parking place next door, he told me there was another parking lot way back behind the other hotel. I had already seen the lot. Unlighted and about a three block walk back. I expressed my displeasure with the situation and he said it was better than no parking place at all. As I was walking out he asked me if I expected him to manufacture a parking space. Then as I said I was done staying at Holiday Inn Express, he ran after me and said he would move his car off the lot to make a space. Have to wonder if they are short of parking why he is parking on the lot in the first place. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I expect a parking space when I pay for a room for 5 nights. Second and third floor vending/ice was clearly marked. Neither had an Ice machine, had to use one on first floor. Not mentioned when we checked in. Vending machine's dollar acceptor didn't work either. Everything else about our stay was very satisfactory.

“Nice Stay”

The staff was helpful in locating us a specific place to eat. They specifically helped us with the computer, as it was not responding to the given password. They were friendly, and the breakfast was delightful. The cookies at night were scrumpous as well! Nice stay!!
