“HoJo's Maine”

It is a moderately priced hotel, Clean, Safe, not a lot of frills. 2 restaurants on site. Others close by. Main Mall is a short drive. 15 minutes from downtown Portland. Right off the highway but I wasn't disturbed by traffic. pool was o.k.

“Would choose this hotel again”

I had to be at Maine Medical Center in downtown Portland @ 8 AM. I settled on this hotel because of the easy access to a direct route AND a much lower price than downtown hotels. I was pleasantly surprised at my choice. The lobby was very nice; it had a workout room and swimming pool, both inviting, but the highlight was that the room was very spacious, very clean, and the beds very comfortable. It also had a balcony, a table and a desk. The bathroom was clean and plenty adequate with a "green planet" sign on the doornob. I have to say it was as nice as many "upscale" and higher priced hotels I've stayed at. We also got discount coupons for 2 restaurants right next to the hotel.

“Good value hotel”

It isn't the fanciest but is clean and well kept - a good value for the money. Employees very friendly and helpful. Very well located just outside Portland. 10 min to Maine Mall. 15 min to downtown. Right off toute 95.

I was very pleased with this hotel. The room I stayed in was really spacious and very clean. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for the rate I paid. I will for sure stay here on my next visit to Portland.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel!! From the gorgeous double-sided stone fireplace in the Lobby to the great room to the bright bathroom and sooooo comfy bed! You won't be disappointed with this gem!

“great inexpensive hotel”

very nice place. It was clean and comfortable. They had all the ammenities right there in the hotel and plenty of other ammenities if needed (food store, Kohls, etc) right there across the stret. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. It was also one of the cheaper places to stay.Wuold definitely go back again.

“A visit to HoJo's, the Plaze in Portland, Maine”

I absent-mindedly left four dress shirts, a nice pair of slacks, and two vests with deep-rooted personal meaning on the rack on my way out the door of my room. One of the vests I bought at a street stall in Dehli, India, in 1980, the other in similar fashion in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1999. When I realized my loss the next day, I immediately called the hotel, where the person at the main desk connected me with their head of room service, who in turn found my items and agreed to mail them to me. All belongings arrived a few days later neatly folded in a well wrapped carboard box.

Although I booked with expedia. The hotel did not have the offer we paid for through expedia. to the hotels credit they did honor the deal but said next time to call them directly to get the full information on what the services cost.
