Was in a great location - walking distance to downtown, lots of cool shops and restaurants nearby. Staff super nice!

Boutique hotel with party vibePosted Mar 10, 2014
The renovated Jupiter Hotel had a fun, modern, party vibe. The Doug Fir lounge next to the lobby was the highlight with retro-modern decor, great food, and a decent venue lineup. Our hotel room was on the "chill side" because I am a light sleeper (they provide earplugs, Lol!) and was still a little noisy at night when everyone was stumbling back to their rooms. Our room was very clean, but could've used a little TLC. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way and the bathroom lights would flicker. The hotel commons areas seemed nice, though we didn't use them, and the front desk staff was very helpful and attentive. *Bonus* We used Trimet to get around the city and there were many stops within walking distance for easy travel across the river and around the area.

Brilliant conceptPosted Mar 9, 2014
I could go on and on about how cool this place is! My husband and I had a wonderful time here. The staff is great, the food is tasty and the rooms are immaculate and comfy ! The noise we expected, was non existent, even after a Tool concert ( our reason for being there). It's a must do experience !

Thank you for your business we truly appreciate it. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your overall stay and would offer that for yourself and others, definitely book a "chill side" room as they are far less active than the "bar patio" rooms and better suited for families or those looking for quieter atmospheres.

Pros: Fun !
Cons: Fridge raptor in room
Fun place to stay. Not the place if you are looking for peace and quiet. It's a loud party hotel. Small rooms. Comfortable beds. Great staff.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Very knowledgeable about the area and great recommendations for things to see places to eat etc. Loved the art that the hotel had to offer!

Unbelievably Bad ServicePosted Jan 24, 2014
Cons: Customer service training for the staff.
Booked a room the night before my arrival. When I went to check in, the woman at the front desk said I was expected the previous day, even through their on-line reservation system doesn't allow same-day reservations. She said there were rooms available, but I was out the money for the previous night. She had no interest in working something out. I went somewhere else.

Party hotel.Posted Jan 18, 2014
Was places right above the bar,... Noise til 2:30, which was luckily no big deal to me- but beware that this is a total party hotel.

The Jupiter is alright.Posted Dec 3, 2013
Pros: Hotel staff was great; friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and not some cookie cutter chain place, it has a little character, which we like.
Cons: The big white tent makes for a very cool space but it is a bit noisey when the wind kicks up.
Location: Across Burnside there is a nice collection of shops for browsing. Right across 8th street is a fantastic french restaurant, Le Pigeon.
We checked in Thanksgiving Day and spent the weekend in Portland. The Pearl District is directly down Burnside Street so we walked there our first day. We enjoy walking and it took us only about 20 minutes to reach Powell's Bookstore. We also took the Portland Streetcar at other times. It's a great system that only costs a buck and takes you to all the interesting places, like the Portland Art Museum. You can catch the street car on Grand only two blocks away from the hotel. We had a room in the corner at the back which was pretty quiet for the most part but, on Sunday morning around 3 a.m. a wind storm hit. The hotel has a big tent over an open courtyard and I think that is where the noise was coming from, it sounded like a big wooden box full of bamboo wind chimes being rolled around with something heavy hitting the side of the box every so often. That morning was really the only negative experience we had.

Fun, for young people.Posted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Jupiter Hotel is about as funky cool as can be. This hotel would be perfect for younger people who want to party. It was in a fun neighborhood with lots of great bars and places to eat. The bar downstairs was partying well after midnight. I wouldn't recommend it for a quiet night's sleep, though. I think we may have been a little too old for it, we went to bed before 10, and the noise kept us up a long time.
