The folly of hipsters.

Posted Dec 6, 2014
I greatly appreciate the supply meeting the demand of a hip town in need of an all inclusive music venue-bar-restaurant-hotel but the "hotel" end of it had the signs of neglect and over use. The price was high for a dirty, cold room with the lingering smell of old smoke and mildew. The finishes were falling away and the lights were barely holding together. Jupiter, keep the bottle of Sake and the complimentary condom off the nightstand and invest in some glue, a vacuum cleaner and a quick trip to Ikea for some new $10 lights.

Unpleasant

I've arrived at 11pm and there was nobody at the desk. I waited 10min before someone showed up in a bad mood...

Convenience was the choice

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Rooms were very small and needs remodeling. Bathroom door was hard to close and floor carpet looked very bad!

stinks like tobacco smoke. Moldy smell in room.

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: ban smoking, get real ventilation
Location: The Farm restaurant nearby is exceptional!
Terrible. room stank like moldy tobacco. Only venting was AC which brought in smoke from tobacco party pit in center courtyard. Very noisy as constant parties in bar and courtyard even mid week until 2:00 am. The rooms are crazy small. Staff moved us from ground floor beside the smokers pit to upstairs, it helped after first night but not enough. It looked cool in the website shots. Cramped, smelly, noisy. Crappy end of town. The staff were nice though. Never again!

Rob, Thank you for sharing your comments as they are the best way for us to measure how we are doing as a hotel. I am sorry that you experienced the smell that you did as that is not consistent with the standards that we uphold and certainly not something you would find for future stays. Should you decide to change your mind and stay with us again, I am confident you would have a far different experience.

Trendy Hotel but over priced.

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: The bar and restaurant which is actually not owned by the Hotel.
Cons: Price. Way too expensive and I think they must pay to have there name pop up with ads and first on Expedia so you are more likely to choose it.
Location: Moda Center. It was definitely farther than close walking distance.
It had nice attached bar, restaurant and club. Rooms were extremely tiny. They basically took a very old motel tried to glam it up and charge more. The hotel staff dressed very trendy as well. This in an effort to charge more.

Shannon, Thank you for giving us your feedback and for staying with us. I am sorry that you felt the room was small, we converted a historic motor lodge hotel into what is now the Jupiter and they didn't have the same expectations then, that we do now. We understand this can be an issue for some, however depending on the room type you were in, we do have larger rooms and would be happy to make sure you are given one for future stays. Ultimately our goal is not to charge more, but to offer a budget friendly hotel that is comfortable and laid back compared to what you will find elsewhere in Portland, sometimes we just don't hit that mark. Thank you again for your comments and we do hope that you can give us another chance in the future.

Awesome Hipster Hotel

Very hipster. But the hotel was awesome. There is a bar next door, late night noise, be aware of that, they warm you at check in though.

Great stay

Posted Sep 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms are very chic. Only problem was a private party in the courtyard all day of the only day i stayed. Could have been warned i wouldn't be able to use the only open space due to party. Otherwise a wonderful place

Gute Lage zu Downtown Portland

Posted Sep 9, 2014 on Hotels.com

This is a very modern & stylish hotel.

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: This is in a redeveloped part of town, with coffee shops & locally owned stores. The restaurant next door, Doug Fir, is a good place for meals.
Location: Small locally owned stores & coffee shop across the street.
The Jupiter has been remodeled into a very funky & up-to-date hotel.
