They're doing renos in the lobby and the outside looks run down but the room we got was amazing. Comfy bed. Hardwood floors. It was amazing.

Staying at Motel 6 was comfortable. The beds' sheets were always fixed when we came back and the room was comfy. The only problem we had was the key. Took us about 10 tries just to open the door. But past that struggle, we loved our stay and the price was just perfect for our budget.

Pros: Location
Cons: The front desk employee's could be better trained in customer service. I was not a difficult guest but was not accommodated in the slightest.
Location: The location was pretty central in Vancouver making it easy to get to food, stores and activities but there are many other hotels to choose from.
A Motel 6 isn't going to put me in the lap of luxury however, I have stayed in several and never had an experience like this. I was early to my destination so I called at 12pm (4 attempts over 10 minutes, with no answer) to see if I could check in early, I was told that I was staying in a handicap room (I didn't request a handicap room) and the previous guests hadn't checked out yet (checkout is 11am). I informed them that I would be there at 5pm (checkin is 3pm). I arrived at 5:05pm and was told my room still wasn't clean. As I expressed my frustration the employee didn't even apologize and basically told me that it really wasn't her problem because she just got to work at 3pm. I was told to wait a minimum 30 mins. I asked about a discount and was told that she couldn't give me one because I booked on Expedia. When I arrived there was a sign that read "we are assisting a guest and will be back as soon as possible" I waited about 5 min. then 2 employees came back from smoking. My room didn't have a microwave or fridge and I have never not had either in my stays at Motel 6. I asked about it and the employee said that I had to request those so when I did, she told me it was too late. I asked if there was a difference in room price for those amenities and was told no, I am not sure why any room would be without them. The ice machine would not work sometimes making it difficult to keep our food cold in the ice chest for the weekend. The room smelled like poop & cigarette smoke.

Run down & dirty

The room smelled like dog, mold and smoke :( The carpet is stained and lumpy. There is black mold in the bathroom. The coverlet on the bed has multiple burn holes. The TV has lines through it. The jacuzzi tub (that is in the MAIN ROOM) drips water constantly -- I have NOTHING good to say about this hotel.

Great, except for one thing . . .

Pros: Clean, great staff, hardwood flooring and no gross carpet
This motel is nice and clean -- looks like the room had been redone recently. They have a super staff and it's close to a lot of conveniences. The ONLY problem was the kind of people it attracted. Maybe it wasn't typical, but when we stayed there were all kinds of . . . let's say, undesirables. You know, hanging out in the parking lot and smoking and looking really shady. The couple in the room next to us were fighting all morning, complete with expletives that my daughters could hear clear as day. Not the motel's fault at all, but if I'm in the area again I'll find somewhere else.

Little hard on Grandma!

Pros: The price
Cons: More handicap rooms
Thought we were getting a handicap room...made it a little hard on Grandma to go up and down the stairs. Also would have been nice if there were handrails in the tub. But other than that it was a good room and a great stay. Will very probably stay again when we have to come back into the area.

Staff were responsive and friendly. Room was average. If you need quiet place to rest. This will work. Close to stores and food. Easy access to the freeway.

Hotel gave me one of the colder rooms....it had a a heater but room was only warm when the noisy heater was on...if you dont mind that room was great
