Inexpensive if passing through, not long term

Pros: Across the street from Elmer's, great FOOD and service
Cons: Back stairs to 2nd floor needs painting
Location: Right off freeway to everything you might want to do or see, near airport but I didn't hear any plane noise or freeway noise which was a surprise
Lobby floor under construction so that area not pleasant right now. Did not have time to try out the pool or workout room.

Horrible experience

When I went to take a shower the water would not turn on. I called down to the front desk and the wouldn't answer so I called the main number from my cell and they answered. The girl at the front said she would send maintenance up. After waiting 30 min I called back and she said she was with customers and she had to take care of them first and then she would see what she could do when she was done prioritizing. Needless to say after fiddling with the knob for a few minutes the shower came on and water only came out of half the holes in the shower head. I would not recommend this hotel ever!!!!

Anywhere But Here

Pros: We only were there for one night
Cons: Customer service when guests try to speak with staff, which would have addressed much of the rest of the challenges of the evening
Location: Elmer's restaurant across the street was awesome, and so very close.
In a word: DON'T. The facility has long-term residents -- not just guests -- allows pets (and big dogs, not just the tiny kind), known/persistent challenges with at least a few residents... and the pictured pool is a storage area without a drop of water. We got over the disappointment of the pool thing, grabbed dinner, and settled in. Cigarette burns in the bedspread, bathroom door didn't latch; we got over both. But the knock at the door and on the class at 9:30pm or so was unexpected. As was the following 90 minutes of shouting between Knocker, a neighboring 'resident' who announced a citizen's arrest of Knocker, and a handful of other residents hovering outside our room giving commentary -- including the two men and their dogs (a Rottweiler a Pitt Bull; awesome). Called the front desk; no answer; six calls in all -- all ignored. Bummer. And listening to the narrative outside the door, this happens at least a few times a month, all with police involvement at the end. In the morning, the hotel's apology was anemic at best... and that staff member was on duty last night (by her own admission). Next time, anyw

Lost Items

Overall the motel is OK. I accidently left some items in the room after check out and the motel staff was not helpful in locating the items. I had to go there and literally hunt down staff and find the items myself. I stay here often and will again but I was disappointed in the lack of effort.

Room has cig burns all over the bath tub and the drain was glogged big time. Could not get it clear with a plunger from the office. Something someone should have noticed before we got there. Did offer us to move rooms - but to a one bed room at 9:00 PM. Not a want to do thing. Staff tried but had no good options at that point in time. No shower for us, limited towels and just not desireable.

They're doing renos in the lobby and the outside looks run down but the room we got was amazing. Comfy bed. Hardwood floors. It was amazing.

Staying at Motel 6 was comfortable. The beds' sheets were always fixed when we came back and the room was comfy. The only problem we had was the key. Took us about 10 tries just to open the door. But past that struggle, we loved our stay and the price was just perfect for our budget.

Pros: Location
Cons: The front desk employee's could be better trained in customer service. I was not a difficult guest but was not accommodated in the slightest.
Location: The location was pretty central in Vancouver making it easy to get to food, stores and activities but there are many other hotels to choose from.
A Motel 6 isn't going to put me in the lap of luxury however, I have stayed in several and never had an experience like this. I was early to my destination so I called at 12pm (4 attempts over 10 minutes, with no answer) to see if I could check in early, I was told that I was staying in a handicap room (I didn't request a handicap room) and the previous guests hadn't checked out yet (checkout is 11am). I informed them that I would be there at 5pm (checkin is 3pm). I arrived at 5:05pm and was told my room still wasn't clean. As I expressed my frustration the employee didn't even apologize and basically told me that it really wasn't her problem because she just got to work at 3pm. I was told to wait a minimum 30 mins. I asked about a discount and was told that she couldn't give me one because I booked on Expedia. When I arrived there was a sign that read "we are assisting a guest and will be back as soon as possible" I waited about 5 min. then 2 employees came back from smoking. My room didn't have a microwave or fridge and I have never not had either in my stays at Motel 6. I asked about it and the employee said that I had to request those so when I did, she told me it was too late. I asked if there was a difference in room price for those amenities and was told no, I am not sure why any room would be without them. The ice machine would not work sometimes making it difficult to keep our food cold in the ice chest for the weekend. The room smelled like poop & cigarette smoke.
