Perfect location in Old Port.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Location: Plenty of shopping and restaurants, no need for a car.
Charming and Wonderful! Staff is fabulous, from check in, to parking, to the bartender in the Armory Lounge, everyone is so kind, attentive and helpful. A true pleasure. This was our second stay at the Regency in a year and we will surely be back.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Hotel. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The hotel is also set in a perfect location to experience all that Portland has to offer.

Spoiled vacation

Posted Mar 11, 2015
I stayed at the Regency hotel for 1 night in December 2014. My car was severely damaged while parked at the hotel parking lot. Since the hotel parking is VALET-ONLY and guests are absolutely not allowed to park their car by themselves the person responsible for the damage MUST have been an employee of the hotel. I do understand that accidents happen, but what upsets me the most is what followed after that. Instead of coming clean, accepting the responsibility and apologizing, they tried to cover it up. If the damage wasn’t on the driver’s side I would have probably driven off without noticing and it would have been very difficult, if at all possible, to prove anything afterwards. Three months later insurance claim is still not settled since the hotel is denying their responsibility. One night at this hotel cost me hundreds of dollars atop of the hotel bill for room and parking (!!!), spoiled vacation, a week without a car and many stressful moments dealing with the situation.

Excellent Location and Wonderful Ambience

Got a great deal on Expedia for this hotel that is in the heart of Old Port. It's close to all the great shops and places, including Holy Donut, Duck Fat, Bard Coffee, and the wharf. Hotel-wise it was lovely and well-appointed. That said the beds were too soft--not feather-bed-soft, but poor quality mattress-soft. If you are booking the hotel to utilize the shuttle, you should definitely call ahead to make sure the service is being offered. I needed the shuttle twice and was told it either wasn't running or they were too busy to accommodate my request.

Nice Hotel in the Old Port

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Valet parking was great, complimentary coffee in the morning, nice and clean bathroom, and HD TV. Food in the lounge was very good.
Cons: The room was small, and we could hear noise from adjacent rooms until our neighbors went to sleep. the bed (kingsize) was not stable.
Location: shopping, walking, shows, dining.
It was great having someone right there to take our car to their parking lot, as parking in Portland can be a nightmare. The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance to Merrill Auditorium.

Great night away

It was a nice place to go for a night away. The lounge was a good place to start the evening yet loud we still enjoyed it. The hotel is within walking distance of many amazing restaurants and relatively quiet at night. We would go back.

Close to Everything in Portland

Fabulous 2 days in Portland at The Regency Hotel and Spa. Husband has his first professional massage and was elated! We could walk to fabulous shops, bars, restaurants, and if it was too far to walk (or snowing so badly that we couldn't see!), the valet drove us there AND picked us up! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We got an affordable rate through Expedia for a luxurious hotel and we WILL do it again!
