Nice Hotel in the Old Port

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Valet parking was great, complimentary coffee in the morning, nice and clean bathroom, and HD TV. Food in the lounge was very good.
Cons: The room was small, and we could hear noise from adjacent rooms until our neighbors went to sleep. the bed (kingsize) was not stable.
Location: shopping, walking, shows, dining.
It was great having someone right there to take our car to their parking lot, as parking in Portland can be a nightmare. The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance to Merrill Auditorium.

Close to Everything in Portland

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Fabulous 2 days in Portland at The Regency Hotel and Spa. Husband has his first professional massage and was elated! We could walk to fabulous shops, bars, restaurants, and if it was too far to walk (or snowing so badly that we couldn't see!), the valet drove us there AND picked us up! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We got an affordable rate through Expedia for a luxurious hotel and we WILL do it again!

Historic

Great facility. Nice staff, spa, food, location and comfortable beds. Had a heating issue that was not resolved completely. It was a little inconvenient! Staff could have been a little more upfront with the issue when we arrived. We had some compensation.

Pros: location, staff, atmosphere
Location: hotel bar is a must. Eventide oyster bar. Duckfat. Zapotecas. Soakology or a relaxing hour. Portland Museum of Art.
great location. Valet service was excellent and made it easy for us as it was very cold that day. Front desk staff were very pleasant. Room was comfortable and clean, the bed was so comfortable! Hotel bar is a jem in the Old Port....will definitely stay there again. A very pleasant experience overall, and so convenient to everything!

Heavenly Beds

Posted Feb 12, 2015
I had to pick up my sister from a late flight into Portland, so I booked us a room at the Regency at a reduced rate through Expedia. The valet nicely accommodated my need to use the car several times after my arrival (before the airport trip at 11:30.) The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was both very clean and comfortable. The beds were so comfy neither my sister or I wanted to get out of them in the morning. The restaurant has an elegant, but homey feel with the fireplace going on a cold winter day. Coffee cups were refilled frequently by an attentive staff. All in all, a lovely stay.

I look forward to the next opportunity to return!

Pros: Historic, luxurious, awesome location!
Location: Walk to Novare Res Bier Cafe for a taste of the local beer scene and Eventide Oyster Co. for incredible oysters.
Our first visit to Portland, ME and the Portland Regency - I'm so glad we added this stop to our vacation itinerary. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful with suggestions for dinner and beer sampling. Our room had all of the amenities, an extremely comfortable bed, and an interesting view of the snow-covered rooftops on the surrounding streets. Not only would I recommend this hotel to a friend, but I already have!

Ideally located in the Old Port

Great stay - I will be back again...and again...and again! The Regency never lets me down - the convenience of being located in the Old Port makes everthing thing I could want or need easily within walking distance. Though I live just an hour away, a get-away every now and then feels a world away from the daily grind!
